Very dangerous motel. Rooms are vandalized and staff. Is working with vandalizers. Laptop bags gone.
I stayed at this hotel expecting a safe and secure place, but my experience was extremely upsetting. I left my hotel room briefly to go out for dinner, leaving my personal belongings inside, including my laptop, two iPads, and an iPhone 17 Pro Max. When I returned, all of my valuables were gone and nothing was left behind.
I immediately reported the issue to hotel staff. I was told that someone had reportedly entered my room, but the hotel had no cameras on the floor or near the room to identify who accessed it. When I contacted the police, I was told that without camera footage there was very little they could do.
What concerns me the most is that someone was able to enter my room and remove thousands of dollars worth of personal property. A hotel has a responsibility to provide a safe and secure environment for its guests. At minimum, I expected proper security measures, access records, and assistance in investigating what happened.
This was a very stressful and disappointing experience. I hope the hotel takes this matter seriously, reviews its security procedures, and does more to protect future guests and their belongings.
This is the worst hotel I’ve ever been in dirty no Wi-Fi limited Front Desk dilapidated damaged and there isn’t one good thing I can say about it
So not my first time in Minnesota. I go to ragbrai every year I miscalculated and booked not my normal hotel which I always thought was a La Quinta but it's not. There is no airport shuttle available which they advertise on their website which cost me money right out of the gate that I didn't expect to pay then Let me start off with checking in. I would call the staff rude at best. The place is filthy in the lobby. It looks like the trash cans haven't been clean since covid and it's 2026 now. Pretty obviously the walkways have not been cleaned. Saved by winter snow ever I asked for a late checkout. Normal is noon. Their late checkout was noon. They knocked on my door at 12:01 we're unaccommodating rude and I mentioned that they were going to get this bad review although the lobby outside areas parking lot were filthy and unmaintained the room was decent and nice so I'll give him that. However, I would suggest you find somewhere else to stay I rarely leave bad reviews but these people the way they run their business and stay away from them
This was absolutely the worst. An airport hotel with no shuttle service although there were 2 apparently broken-down shuttles parked there. No breakfast????? I don't ever remember staying at any hotel anywhere that didn't at least offer coffee and a donut. The parking lot is full of potholes and litter. The whole place smelled dank and musty, like a damp basement. The place should be razed to the ground. I'm not sure the front door even worked. It was standing open every time I went by, even though the temperature was brutal and the AC was running.
It wasn't all bad: The desk clerk was polite, friendly and helpful. The room appeared to be mostly clean despite the musty smell. (I don't think anything could be done about the carpet). The water pressure in the shower was good, but the towels smelled musty.
I did not feel safe there. I was afraid to walk my dogs at night, although this is not a bad area of town. The presence of two police cars when we arrived didn't help the appearance of this property. The toilet threatened to overflow every time it was flushed.
This property should be razed. I don't know a lot about construction but given the appearance of the place and the dankness of the building, I can't imagine what could be done to fix it. It's a valuable piece of property in a good area, something decent should be built here. OTOH, I've been out of Minneapolis for over 10 years, maybe the Nicollet - 494 area has gone downhill.
Dirty, smelly, false advertisement: No WiFi
No breakfast
Trash bin overfilled
Entrance floor was dirty
Hallway carpet was tripped hazard
Disgusting with no amenities. Garbage all over for days. No elevator, no pool, no internet and no breakfast, Doesn’t deserve to have the La Quinta name.
This was a terrible experience. The front of the hotel was dingy, garbage was over flowing, the building looks run down, parking lot had huge holes. Inside at check in the floors were dirty and the coffee station was pitiful. The hallway to the room was gross with large stains, old food and garbage bags that were open and feeces were clearly visible. The room was dirty with food on the floor, the window on the main level wouldnt shut nor would the bathroom door.
Very nice room and service is great
Absolutely stay away from this place. The check in was easy because the guy only asked for my ID, credit card, and if I had pets before giving me the room keys and telling me what door to use to get to my room. No greeting, no anything else.
To get to the room you have to drive through a parking lot full of crater like holes. If you have a low car beware. As soon as we open the door to the hallway we were hit with a strong smell of marijuana. The walls of the hallways were literally crumbling. Our room smelled musty and the bathroom smelled like cigarette smoke. There were cigarette burns in the bedding and curtains. The shower, bathroom ceiling, and curtains were all dirty. The only surprise was we didn’t see any bugs.
When I booked the hotel a month ago it said they served breakfast but there was a sign in the lobby saying there was no breakfast. There is nothing positive I can say about this hotel.
Literally awful! See mouse poop in bed pics! No one answered when I called for a shuttle. Since it was 11pm I decided to just pay to get an Uber to pick me up from the airport. When we got to the hotel the front door (main entrance) was broken. The Uber driver took me to the back where there was a police car. Not sure if that was for my safety or because something happened before I got there. Either way it was sketchy. Went to my room, pulled back the sheets and moved the pillows around as I always do and found mouse poop. Not just a little mouse poop!! It was so awful. I immediately left the room and went to check out. When i told the front desk clerk, literally 20 minutes after I had checked in, that there was mouse poop in my bed he didn’t really react. Not surprised, not appalled, not sorry. Just checked me out.
I had called HGI who sent their shuttle to pick me up! From a different hotel. Iesha at HGI saved my night!!
Room similar as pictured above (space wise)
Restaurant less than 40 feet from front door (outstanding food there)
Room was ok until you notice
Pic 1 - one inch gap under door (room key used for scale) anybody can look under the door at any time to see if it is occupied - room can be breached using the under door wire entry method - SAFETY RISK
Pic 2 - unknown material wedge in door lock (removed by me) to prevent electric door lock from actually locking - breach hazard - this is used to breach your hotel room after you leave thinking your room is secure - SAFETY RISK
Pic 3 - shower was not cleaned (ball of hair)
Pic 4 - hole above shower containing black mold and also spiders were coming from there and were all over room.
Pic 5 - unknown broken parts in different areas of the room (Pic of bathroom counter)
Pic 6 - picture of one of many spiders that I shared the room with
Gave up taking pictures at this point - but it should be known if you drive a vehicle the parking lot is a disaster - as of current the surrounding area has major road construction on going which leaves persons who use public transportation stranded. You will need to hike several blocks to catch bus. At some point the hotel HAD airport shuttle however it is now just for show- did not appear to be operational. Uber will not be happy trying to pick you up having to drive thru the war zone... I mean parking lot as stated above.
Rate it a zero. Worst. Hotel. Ever.
Front door didn’t work. Lobby looked sad. Website said they had an airport shuttle and breakfast and they had neither. Room was Smokey. Saw a drunk with a bottle staggering down the hall and roaches in the entry. And no coffee in rooms and a tiny coffee pot in the entry that was empty. Two young girls were running the place. It really was awful. It felt like a condemned building.
When we pulled up it looked abandoned even after circling around to find the lobby. Tons of potholes, broken down shuttle buses that are rusting, random construction items, zero signage to know where to enter and generally looked poor with haphazard curtains seen from the windows from outside. Generally looked unsafe with few cars there. Only signs of life seemed to be cars going to Culver’s next door.
Lobby was rundown. No one there to welcome, grubby desk, unkempt floors, old signs saying “no breakfast” and generally looked dirty with coffee stains on a table for complimentary coffee. The guy who checks in was dismissive only saying “check in 3PM” and walked away.
Wasn’t even worth trying to stay here. It looked dangerous from a safety perspective like you’d be robbed. Trust your gut. When you feel like you don’t belong, GO.
Also don’t trust the photos on here. Nothing like it from outside and lobby perspective. Doubtful the rooms looked anything similar to online. It’s much worse than than reviews. Stay somewhere else.
Do not stay here. They are scammers and the hotel is run down 👎 The front desk is rude and they want $50 for early check in and $100 deposit that you want get back when your stay is over. You will have to wait 6 business days
Close to the airport
Old and dirty.
False Advertisement as of just now your website says free shuttle and breakfast included in your price. I received neither. The front entrance is STILL not open, I had to keep telling Lyft Door 2. The police was arresting someone in the parking lot the 1st night I came back to my room. The 2nd night 3 police vehicles were blocking entrance 2 from me getting in. Several guys standing around the entrance at door 2 made me very uncomfortable. I asked when I arrived why were they all standing out there and I was told they were going to be checking in. 3pm None of them came in the check in as I was checking in. I am traveling alone. I asked for a manager and was told they did not know when the manager would be in. I got a little slip of paper with an email address that I also will be contacting.
False info. 4 a couple extra $ book at the next closest hotel that offers free shuttle & breakfast.
Nada! Jamás volveria a ir.
