I have no comment on the breakfast. There were other people that are complaining so I just settled for some juice.
Over the last 10 years my son and I have stayed at this hotel 6-8 times. It is where we always stay when we visit Pittsburgh.
In the fall of 2025 we noticed it seemed to be showing wear and in need to some upkeep.
This most recent visit, June of 2026, it had was beyond normal wear and tear and now appeared neglected. The carpets were all very visibly stained. The trim around elevators and guest room doors had paint chipped off in multiple places. The elevators looked more like freight elevators they were so damaged and dirty.
We were very disappointed.
The rooms were clean and staff was friendly.
At check out I mentioned that the mini fridge did not close properly and was informed that they had ordered a shipment of replacements and noted the room. In addition, we were told that the property was under a new management firm that was keen to refurbish the property, a request had been submitted, and they were just waiting on funds to move forward.
So.
If you are thinking of staying here be aware that it is not at its best at the moment but this is, indeed, a temporary situation. It is still a good property and we will be back.
Despite its current shortcomings I gave it 4 stars because the linens and surfaces and bathrooms were clean. The free breakfast does not seem to have suffered. The staff are friendly.
Dirty, towels are not clean, the place is a dump. I am a Hilton Diamond Member and frankly this is more and more the case with Hampton Inns. I didn't even shower due to the condition of the bathroom. Marriott here I come!!
The hotel was very clean and the staff is friendly

The location was close to where we needed to be.
The property is not well kept we have stayed here many times in the past years and was surprised by how unkept the property is now. The smell and uncleanliness of the furniture in the room was very unpleasant. I hope that they make necessary changes and repairs.
I booked a room for my daughter and husband who are active military traveling across country prior to a deployment (also traveling with a service dog). The front desk was A++++++ helping me make arrangements using points. I wish I wrote down their names, I spoke with a women (I think Makaila Monday night) and my daughter mentioned the gentlemen who checked them him had a slight British accent) In any event they were both rock starts. Thank you for helping us.....
There was a breakfast.
The sofa bed was small.

As Hilton Honors members, we specifically chose this Hampton Inn because we trust the Hilton brand, but this was one of the most disappointing hotel stays we’ve had.
The biggest issue was safety. Our room door did not lock properly, which made us feel very uncomfortable throughout our stay. In addition, an exterior stairwell entrance was unlocked and accessible from outside, creating another security concern. There was also someone smoking on our floor despite this being a non-smoking hotel.
The property itself is in significant need of maintenance. The carpets were ripped, the walls were covered in scuffs and marks, and the overall appearance felt neglected. Our room smelled damp, musty, and mildew-like, making it feel dirty from the moment we walked in.
Unfortunately, we arrived late in the evening and it wasn’t practical to find another hotel, so we had no choice but to stay the night.
This experience did not meet the standards we’ve come to expect from Hampton Inn or Hilton. We hope management addresses the security concerns and invests in maintaining the property because, in its current condition, we would not stay here again or recommend it to others.
Friendliness of staff, breakfast, and comfortable beds.
