There is a saying: you never get a second chance to make a first impression. Despite having stayed at the Mundial several times 15+ years ago we met a completely different hotel:
We were not given all the information at Check-in (breakfast restaurant), lots of people at reception but many just standing around .
The room was comfortable and huge - but no slippers, no bath robe, no sanitary bags for ladies, no body lotion, no conditioner, no iron and no coffee machine - the other hotels offered Nespresso machines with 2 capsules per day.
The internet fluctuated from good to not available.
Breakfast was the most disappointing breakfast during our entire stay in 9 different hotels in Portugal. No fresh fruit, ie bananas, apples, blueberries, no natas, no oat flakes, no pumpkin seeds and the coffee was terrible.
After the first complaint about breakfast and internet we were told it would be passed on to food and beverage dept. so we naturally expected to find this the next morning. But this was not the case - the same canteen youth hostel experience.
After the next complaint the front desk manager rang us only to tell us that we should have had breakfast on the 8th floor - how were we to know if we are not told.
So after being given a free drink on the roof top bar we were looking forward to a different breakfast on our last day. The atmosphere with thick carpets and a lovely view of Lisbon was certainly very different - BUT breakfast was exactly the same as on the 1st floor - just layed out differently.

So, having spent nearly 900 Euros for 3 nights for a double room with breakfast we would not recommend the Mundial to anybody. It definitely does not deserve a 4-star rating. Such a shame.

We had a very relaxing stay at the hotel. Everyone we came into contact was extremely friendly. When we're back in Lisbon we will be booking Hotel Mundial again.

Staff of Mundial made our stay so enjoyable!!
Pros:

This is a lovely hotel. Reception staff were so helpful and able to attend to all our needs as this was our first time visiting Lisbon. Hotel very central to main attractions and shops. Breakfast - spoilt for choice - staff so attentive - very relaxing atmosphere - room spotless - totally recommend this hotel.

Bon hotel bien placé mais attention aux arnaques et de la nuisance
Pros:

Le petit déjeuner est super bien très varié et personnel du restaurant très aimable, serviable et à l'écoute
L'emplacement est top pour les visites magasin et restaurant à 2 pas
La chambre de luxe avec balcon bien mais trop bruyants on entend tous : les pompiers, ceux qui reviennent des restaurants et qui parlent devant ta chambre à Minuit en attendant l'ascenseur, aucun respect de ceux qui dorment.

Cons:

on a fait laver nos linges en cochant juste la lessive et on nous a fait payer la lessive et le repassage qu'on a pas demandé. c'est de l'abus
on est parti de l'hotel à 2h du matin car notre avion était à 5h du matin, on nous a meme pas donné un café alors qu'on a payé le petit déjeuner meme pour ce jour de départ.
