Steven with parking made us and our family’s morning with magic tricks and a friendly greeting!
Steven the guest service coordinator made the experience for us. Very hands on and friendly. Easy to talk too and most of all trusted his team with our vehicle.
Steven and Tayler were amazing, kind and professional. Very friendly and accommodating.
Great experience. Valet made a ballon animal for our son. This place went above and beyond. Will stay again!
Steven the magician is amazing!
Large lobby, valet parking, welcoming staff.
Like to have options for entertainment, workouts, and relaxing, all in the same hotel.
Long lines for breakfast omelets(great tastings). Could hire another , extra help for this station
A little tight to navigate easily. More individual space.
Game room is expensive. Ping pong table needed?
We came to Portland for a club basketball tournament and stayed at the Embassy Suites downtown. Everyone was so helpful and kind, and the valet was especially helpful with our big van! Thanks Steven!
Valets were great helped pack the van super curious.
Steve the valet was amazing and his magic tricks were amazing too. staff was super helpful overall
Amazing stay!!! The Pure room was perfect for me and was so glad for it. Staff was great, very friendly and helpful. Vallet was super nice and helpful.
Steven is the perfect person for in the morning. He is wonderful!
We had the best stay here. But honestly, Steven the valet guy was the star of the show. He made our whole trip! Between his super positive, very helpful attitude and his impressive magic tricks, we loved him! Austin was also super kind and helpful!
Steven and Pierre were great at the valet. Fast service and kind. All hotel staff were also great.
As a Hilton Honors Diamond member, I enjoy staying at different locations throughout the Hilton portfolio. A short visit to Portland brought me to town and I chose this downtown location. I also chose it because my stay would coincide with the need to do my laundry at the point of what was a 2-week journey. E-mails to the hotel confirmed I would be able to use a washer/dryer while staying onsite.
As I always do, I checked in online and chose my room the day before arrival in Portland. The day of arrival, as my Digital Key became available in the early afternoon, I also received texts from the front desk staff welcoming me and answering a few questions I had.
Upon arrival I went right to my room with the Digital Key. I found the building to be older and quite atypical of what a Embassy Suites would be expected to look like. Most have a huge atrium, with all rooms centered around a ground floor court usually where breakfast is served. This one did not have the atrium, which for the issue of noise is probably a good thing. Breakfast was served here in a restaurant in a basement level 2 stories below the lobby.
My room was satisfactory. Again the suite was older and different than the suites on expects to see at most Embassy Suites. Being a downtown location it was a little cramped, particularly the desk area in front. Using the desk next to the door its positioning was such that I could not see the TV in either room. Moving the chair to the other side of the desk helped a little. Space in the bathroom was also a little bit limited with the toiletries and pills I needed space for.
I had used my digital key to get upstairs in the elevator upon arrival, but on a subsequent trip in the elevator, it would not work -- in fact the option for Elevator never appeared on my phone. This represented the only time I had to interact with the front desk, to get a physical key so that I could use the elevator. Hilton encourages guests to avoid the front desk and go straight to one's room, but if a plastic key is needed on a random basis then that makes 100% reliance on the digital key pointless if I have to visit the desk anyway (after being in an elevator going noplace because my Digital Key would not work). Food for thought.
I did get my laundry done easily and am grateful for that opportunity. The room on the 2nd floor contains 2 washers and 2 dryers so there was no wait at the time I visited.
Breakfast was good and filling, with ample hot choices.
No issues sleeping, streets outside and the hallways within were pretty quiet all night.
Overall if staying downtown and you're in for a rustic old building this place comes with a convenient location, very near all light rail lines.
Hôtel historique de Portland bien situé dans old Town. Confort et propreté. Très bon restaurant et petit déjeuné.
Une seule poubelle dans une suite et pas de bouteille d’eau de bienvenue
Taylor was really professional and great. When we arrived Friday evening we noticed that there was only 1 valet and he was getting really backed up. It might help to have a second person on to help. The cars were getting stacked up on the street and in Portland that can be a bit of a problem. That being said everyone was extremely helpful and very professional. It made our stay very nice to not have to deal with parking. I have a big truck so it was nice to let the valet deal with all of that for me.
