The Pitts.
Pros:

Don’t know if this is my first time in a Marriott Hotel but it's likely to be my last. I visited this Hotel with my Wife and also my Son his Wife and 2 Children which should have been for a 5 Night stay. We checked in late at night after a long day and had no issues they did however like all American Hotels require a Credit Card for incidentals.
My Wife and I were allocated a suite which we were relatively happy with despite cleanliness leaving a lot to be desired. The Air Conditioning unit was probably the loudest I have ever experienced which obviously affected our sleep quality. Breakfast was included but it was pretty poor to say the least. I also noticed that about £600 was on my Credit Card and despite speaking to 2 Receptionist and Supervisor I could not get a reason for it, my Son's Credit Card had very much less. Room Service was not every day but they came in occasionally to replenish things and it's annoying that after they have been they haven't left any Coffee and not left a fresh toilet roll when the existing one is nearly done
A few days in and we are wondering what we have let ourselves in for and how on earth has this Hotel got do many good reviews. Plenty of negatives and the only plus I can think of is I enjoyed lying next to the outdoor pool and having a dip
Unbelievably things took a turn for the worse the 6 of us were heading back to our room and there was a terrible smell a dog had done it's business in the corridor and it was over a fair area probably due to the owner dragging it. We had to take a long alternative route to our rooms to ensure our Grandchildren didn't get it on their shoes. My Son and I went down later to make sure it had been cleaned up but unbelievably they had missed some and it had been trodden on and spread around.(See photos). We decided to leave a day early something I have never done before but I have never ever experienced this before.

Worst hotel EVER. DO NOT STAY HERE!
Pros:

I WISH I could give 0 stars!!
This was by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had, and I would never recommend anyone stay here. I was traveling with my service animal and expected at the very least to be provided with a clean, safe room. Instead, I was forced to change rooms twice because every room I was placed in had what appeared to be mold. The Head of Housekeeping and a Maintenance supervisor both came to inspect the rooms and told me it was mold. They both instructed me to go to the front desk to report the room and request a refund because the rooms were not acceptable. I have those conversations recorded.
What made this experience even worse was the way management treated me. Instead of taking responsibility for the situation or showing any concern for my health and safety, the manager was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. After being moved from room to room and repeatedly asking for a solution, the supervisor looked at me and said, "What do you want me to do?" I could not believe that was the response after everything I had already been through.
The conditions of these rooms were hazardous and unsafe. No guest should ever be expected to sleep in a room that staff themselves identified as having mold. I was expected to keep moving my belongings and my service animal from one room to another while dealing with a problem the hotel already knew existed. It was exhausting, frustrating, and completely unacceptable.
The problems did not stop with the rooms. The pool water was extremely murky and looked dirty, making me question whether it was being properly maintained. After seeing the condition of the rooms and the pool, I lost confidence in the cleanliness and safety of the entire property.
This hotel completely failed to provide a safe environment or even basic customer service. Instead of receiving help, I was treated with disrespect and made to feel like I was the problem for expecting a clean room. No guest should have to fight for a safe place to stay or be treated this way after staff acknowledge serious issues with the property. I expected accountability, professionalism, and a genuine effort to make things right. Instead, I left feeling frustrated, disrespected, and extremely disappointed. I sincerely hope no one else has to experience what I went through.

Met My Needs Despite Some Minor Drawbacks
Pros:

Every hotel has tradeoffs. The visitor's satisfaction depends on how the hotel's tradeoffs line up with what the visitor needs. I needed a comfortable, reliable "base camp" for a short visit near the area where I grew up. This Residence Inn was suitable for my needs, but had a few minor shortcomings.

The hotel is about 3/4 mile from a major interstate highway exit. It resembles a large apartment building, featuring sizable studio rooms and suites, all of which have partial kitchens. The staff are all friendly and helpful. Check-in and check-out were quick and easy.

I had a studio. The room was spacious and comfortable. Nights were quiet and the room was suitably dark after I turned off the lights. The bed was comfortable. I came during a particularly hot and humid period, but the AC noise was within reasonable limits. I slept well. The internet connected well and was as fast as I needed. The TV worked well; I was able to connect to my personal Netflix account quickly. The hotel has plenty of free parking.

The hotel has a small heated outdoor pool, large enough to cool off in but not large or deep enough to do any serious exercise. An adjoining hot tub was shut down. There is also a small basketball court. There is a small "fitness center" that has an elliptical machine, a recumbent bike, a treadmill and some free weights.

The hotel met my needs despite having a few drawbacks. The location is not central to anything and is not in an area in which you can walk or easily catch frequent transit to anything. You really need to have a car to stay here. The "free breakfast" was limited and bland. The building and furniture shows some age, with nicks and stains that are visible in many places. And a few amenities were missing. There was no hotel store, no safe in the room, no bath towels at the pool and no cleansing wipes in the fitness center. The clock in the fitness center was not working.

The Residence Inn is one of Marriott's older concepts. I have stayed at several over the years. This one seemed like an old friend that had aged and worn out just a bit, but still worked for what I needed. The next time I come to the area, I will know its limitations but will still likely choose to stay again.

Pros:

Breakfast was good

Cons:

whom it may concern,

Thank you for asking.

My stay was not the very best, it was a nice hotel but it was not the nicest experience AT a hotel.

Firstly I had to keep putting my garbage on the table because there was no bin in my room.

Secondly I kept asking for the maid to clean my room because nobody ever did and I stayed 4 days .

Thirdly I needed amenities, the maid came pick up some towels and left never refreshed me I went to the front desk to complain the lady at the desk said that she would send someone to my room and she never did.

Also from the first day I could smell the person that was using the sheets before me I am sure the sheets were not changed but I beared with it unfortunately.

Therefore overall I would give the rating a two out of five or a two out of 10.

I was charged a fee of $80 and it was never returned to date.

My desire was to bring my family back however I am no longer sure.

But the breakfast experience was nice experience.

So excuse me for saying everything here I will find the time soon to rate your hotelo

Great location, great front desk, horrible housekeeping policies, and property upkeep, not worth your money
Pros:

This hotel used to be a 5 but it has descended to a 1. I stayed there recently for 7 days, but in a previous stay, I began to see significant downward trend issues with the hotel. Marriott says rooms will be fully cleaned after 6 days, which means your room is not cleaned, towels are dirty, no soap, no coffee, no toilet tissue, trash not collected, and they tell you to keep it in your room. The refresh somehow doesn't somehow mysteriously refresh. There is a full kitchen in the room, so you can eat in your room, I asked for vacuuming at 2:00 p.m. after 3 days and I was told by the house supv no one was around for a hotel that is 24/7?? I wrote and called corporate.

On my most recent stay, I checked in on April 30, after conversations with manager this time they cleaned my room, put me into an upgraded suite, as a Gold elite member with sheer curtains that have been glued together with glue, visible stains on the couch, telephone not working, (replaced) and sink with no stopper, that was always barely draining, with 4 pillows that smelled and had to be replaced. Surely she (the manager) must be kidding, but no! In addition to the saga, 2 days after I left Marriott, Marriott charged my card without authorization, it was $117.00 for a dog fee?? And I do not own a dog! I immediately called the hotel to inquire, the Front Desk (Jarred) was kind enough to give me an early check in (1:30 pm), he received my phone call and told me it was for a dog fee?! And I wrote Corporate again. I received a response from the hotel manager 30 minutes ago, (5/15) stating, "after review it was a mistake," I have stayed there for months and never had a dog, they should know that. I am waiting for that unauthorized charge to be reversed. Marriott needs to rethink their staffing, training, housekeeping policies, repairs, quality management processes, operating revenue and investments into the property. Redesign based on the customer experience. This is a good location, but it has deteriorated greatly under the misdirection of this management. A seven night stay should not be treated as an extended stay. I will never, never stay at this hotel again.
