The Hotel Grande Bretagne is a non smoking Hotel therefore smoking is not allowed in the rooms, bars, restaurants or any public areas of the property.
Guests are welcome to check-in at 3pm. Check-out is at 11am, though the hotel is pleased to accommodate late check-outs upon request. In the case of a late check-out before 6pm, an additional half day rate will apply. For check-outs after 6pm, a full day rate will apply.

The room were too small and everything was too old

If you book an hotel overlooking the Parliament building in Athens, you expect the best. With this hotel, you get the best. The location, the service, the staff attitude and training are of the best. Having breakfast overlooking the city of Athens, with a superb view of the Parthenon, is a memorable moment even for the seasoned traveller. Would I return to this hotel? In a flash!
We loved our room. It was very beautiful. Everything was there that we needed. The staff was very pleasant to deal with.

The room was very quiet. Having spent the night before at a luxury hotel, where the street noise was over the top, appreciated the quiet of the GB. Everything was close.
The hotel appeared tired. The restaurant was difficult to make a reservation, even as a guest. The staff was a little aloof. There were no bathroom amenities, other than soap and lotion.

The room I initially got was on the 7th floor, right below rooftop cate/bar/restaurant. All night heard thumping of music and then starting at 7:00 am heard chairs constantly sliding/moving from breakfast buffet. After complaining was relocated to 6th floor. Didn’t appreciate the whole experience
We stayed at the end of May, as we arrived a few of days early to start a cruise in Athens. We had a Deluxe Suite, with a king bed and courtyard view. The room was spacious and the sitting area could be closed off from the bedroom, which we like in case someone gets up earlier, you can read or compute without bothering your mate. The room was very quiet, the mattress and linens were first-rate, comfortable and we slept well. All the amenities were excellent. They kept the room spotless throughout the stay. The furniture, pictures, decorations throughout the hotel are exquisite.
We ate at the Rooftop Garden which was superb...excellent food (and, we thought fairly reasonable prices), but the main attraction was the view of the Acropolis and Parthenon from almost any table. Another plus was the location as we could walk to shops and to see the changing of the guard at the Greek Parliament building. Everyone (and I do mean everyone in the hotel) was unfailingly polite, friendly and willing to help with any request. Superb stay and a welcome start to our cruise vacation!
This hotel was incredible. Old school glamour with all the modern touches! We stayed only for one night and honestly the best stay I've ever had anywhere. The service was impeccable. All the nice touches in our room to welcome us for our stay. My hubby had arranged strawberries and champagne which arrived shortly after we checked in. Our room overlooked the parliament square so we were lucky enough to watch the changing of the guard from our balcony. I enjoyed a massage in the hotel spa which was incredible and much needed. We did drinks in the rooftop bar for sunset and the drinks and view was beautiful. Stunning view of the Acropolis. Sadly we missed doing drinks in the piano bar off the lobby but it looked stunning. Breakfast spread was delicious and loved all the healthy options that were available. It was an amazing 22 hours in Athens and this hotel was definitely a big reason for our incredible flying visit.
Location, very clean
Unfortunately, I haven’t found the concierge’s restaurant recommendations particularly impressive. For example, when I asked for a special restaurant recommendation to celebrate our anniversary, I was directed to Balcony Restaurant & Bar, which did not feel like a memorable or exceptional choice for such an occasion.
Loved the experience . Highly recommend to visit in the evening - cocktails & snacks are great ! Staff members are very nice
