location and price
The upstairs bartender's gave the dirty glasses a very very brief plunge into the sink and done. Not sure if there is a small dishwasher there, did not look like it, but completely grossed out about the cleanliness.
Rooftop restaurant and view, parking location and pass, location to attend Pageant of the Masters.
The room was the worst experience I have had after having booked many rooms through Booking.com's website. The photos of the rooms are NOT representative of what we received. The room was narrow - you had to throw yourself into the bed on one side; the portable airconditioner was an eye-sore wiwth a huge silver vent snaking around the room; the sink faucet was not connected properly, the bathroom window had a huge crack in the glass, the furniture was more than "distressed", and the window shades were torn, one with a huge hole in it. We asked for rooms NOT on the street - specifically called in with that request when we booked the room months before - but that was ignored. The street rooms are very NOISY, LOUD, music beating through the night - we couldn't sleep. I would definitely request that management upload pictures that are ACCURATE so customers can make an informed decision. The staff was very new, and they didn't know answers to any local questions we asked. We also didn't get a call when our room was ready, so we stayed away from the hotel until after check-in time to ensure they were ready.
Our stay in the La Casa del Camino Casita was amazing! The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. Nathan at the front desk was so helpful. The room itself was so cute and so close to the beach. We would absolutely stay here again!
Lovely Spanish-style boutique hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Good location. Bed was comfortable. Parking was included.
It all looks very rundown in the corridors and on the rooftop. It really needs new carpet there and everywhere it needs new paint. The bathroom fixtures are worn out, in fact, the whole bathroom is so small and lacks any of the amenities expected for a place that calls itself a “resort..” No Kleenex, no shower cap, none of the things that I expect from any decent hotel. No space to put anything (although I was told they were going to put up some shelves). The room had one bathrobe, although we were two, same for the water, only one bottle in the room. No hot drinks cups, no wine glasses, no coffee machine in the room, no ice bucket. The hotel was very expensive for what it was. I don’t mind paying for a good hotel, but this hotel was far below my expectations.
As for the rooftop, we had lunch there with a group of ten and we were the only people there. The server was super nice and he couldn’t help it, but one order came with a hair in it and it took about half an hour for the new order to arrive even though there were no other guests. The food was mediocre at best.
Then there is a lovely breakfast room next to the lobby, but no breakfast was served. It stood empty. Yet another disappointment.
I come to SoCal a lot and this place is almost like home to me…all the staff is friendly, helpful and highly efficient. The Rooftop is fantastic for watching the sunset and they just opened a great tapas restaurant on the lobby level. Great job.
Such a great location! We loved our stay and can’t say enough about how friendly and accommodating the staff was. We will definitely visit again.
Cutest hotel near the beach! Our stay was amazing thanks to Nathan who made us feel so welcomed and made our trip extra special! They had the kindest staff especially at the rooftop bar. 10/10 would recommend and will definitely be coming back.
It was everything I wanted to be and more: people-friendly, clean, comforting, convenient, with a vibe from earlier times mixed with contemporary energy. I loved it and will come back.
The staff was extremely nice and accommodating. Our room was nice and we had a view of the ocean. Easy access to the beach and great location. I'll Def be back.
The hotel's ambiance.
The rooftop restaurant.
The proximity to the beach.
The professional, kind, and good nature of each staff member and restaurant teams.
While the bed was super comfortable. The pillows were not. New pillows are needed.
A hotel with an amazing history reaching 100 years into the past, appointed with everything you need, easily connected with everything you want to do, and graced with the loveliest and most attentive staff.
La Casa del Camino is a treasure of a place on the Southern California coast offering easy access to everything between San Diego and Los Angeles, with easy connections in and out through Orange County airport. Steps (literally) from the beach, local shops, bookstores, and boutiques, good coffee, fantastic restaurants, with public transport at hand just out the front door for things more distant. Very pleasant ten minute walk to the heart of downtown Laguna. Deeply comfortable rooms that welcome you with function and style. Two restaurants, one at the street level with live music and one on the roof with sunsets that go on forever. Quite simply, the only place to stay if life brings you to this part of the California coast.
Perfect location … right at PCH with the ocean in view and just a stone throw away. In addition to the on/site restaurant and roof-top bar, there was plenty of shopping and every kind of food within walking distance. The room was small, but met our needs, but might not suit some who are more needy. With the ocean so close, who needs a pool?
The staff were all very nice.
The faucet on the sink was very loose and should be repaired
Are you the kind of person who says I don’t care how much a room costs as long as I have an ocean view and a bed? We’ll do I have to hotel for you beds are comfy and you certainly have a view of the ocean but that is it. The “continental” breakfast is store bought muffins and a carafe of fosters coffee. It doesn’t matter that there’s a handful of local coffee and pastry shops a stone throw away. This continental breakfast is so underwhelming it’ll drive you straight into the arms of a local barista. This is include in your “resort fee.” Looking forward to a hot shower? Just jump in the ocean! It’ll be warmer and have much water pressure (PSA the ocean is about 66 degrees). Need to warm up after your frigid shower? Head to the roof top where a well cocktail is $22 and a michelob ultra is $10
All of this for the low cost of $300 per night PLUS $30 per night as a “resort fee” which includes the barest of minimums of a “continental breakfast”, parking a block away, and internet which at this point should be a given.
It was so dirty we left and requested a refund (which they granted thankfully). The walls were scratched/scuffed, drywall patches that need paint, rusted portable AC unit, no screens on windows. We didnt feel comfortable sleeping there on our anniversary.
The rooms pictured on booking.com are their “surf rooms” which we were not put in - they admitted they’ve had this same problem in the past. I sincerely hope booking.com will reach out to us to make this right.
the environment and how pretty it was and very clean and very welcoming!
probably just update on the furniture and restroom other then that everything was perfect
Easy process, very accommodating staff, and walking distance to the beach!
Parking was a bit off putting since its a process to unload and reload further away... Cross the streets.. that sort of thing, but! Its still close so not a huge problem at all!
Staff and Management was very helpful and took care of us.
