Point A Hotel Edinburgh Haymarket

Very small rooms - had option to upgrade to different rooms but hard to tell in the pictures having not visited - what the upgrade meant.

The rooms are very small - but I think that’s the trade off for a more budget hotel. Also, we stayed in a twin room with 2 beds and there were only outlets beside one bed, so it made having a device at your bedside impossible for one person. If you wanted to spend any time in your hotel room this would be a cramped experience, but for some savings in comparison to other hotels in the area it’s worth it.

The bathroom door didn’t close properly so there wasn’t much privacy. Overall good but oveprized, even for the fringe festival.

ビジネスホテルと思っていたら、無料の備品が全然なく実質ホステルでした(備品の潔さはもはやあっぱれレベル)。イギリスのホテルのスタンダードがわからないですが、ドライヤー、タオル、全身用ソープ、コップ、テレビ以外何もなく、現地調達も安くはないので、歯ブラシ、ティッシュ、必要な洗面用具など可能であれば全て持参することをおすすめします。ホステルと思って行けば、設備がきれいなので満足できると思います。

The rooms were small, bed was too small, supposedly a UK King, we were squashed and mattress wasn’t supportive. The left hand side was really close to the wall. There was no arm chair or comfortable chair or a table, there was only 1 x wooden fold up seat. My partner had to lie on the bed. No tea or coffee facilities and no kettle in the room. This felt like a hostel. The only place to sit comfortably was in the foyer. No parking on site, which I knew, but what we didn’t expect was there was not even a place to pull up out the front and drop off bags before going to the separate car park. We had to double park in a taxi rank.

The only problem we had was getting a parking space for our car as we didn’t realise we needed to book a car park beforehand.

Extremely noisy location with loud traffic passing all through the night, despite the secondary glazing and curtain we were kept awake with the noise. Our room was described as a “cosy room” but it was disgracefully small. About 4 inches max between the wall and bed. No storage space. No coffee machine or refreshments in room. We were on the lower ground floor and it felt seedy. Extremely dark corridors which felt unsafe and risky. I certainly would not wish to stay in that area of the hotel as a single female or with children. No restaurant for evening meals. We paid £300 for a one night stay and felt utterly robbed.
