Thank You, all right, all very well!!!!!
Great location and good services. Front desk staff was accommodating and offered a quite room as I requested. He also invited me to join the membership to receive more benefits. The breakfast was OK. Romana is very friendly and she made hot chocolate for me upon request.
Nothing major.
the hotel
I booked a hotel room and pre paid it for my daughter who is 20 and a Tufts student.
The system did not state that she needed to be 21 to check in. She was denied lodging during an emergency.
The front desk manager confirmed to me that it was hotel policy she apologized and stated that I was going to be refunded in full. I received a partial refund. I called the hotel. The hotel blames Booking.com and booking.com blames the hotel. I have it in writing that they were going to refund the full amount. No one answers email.
Close to where I needed to go
Under construction.. but what can you do? They are making improvements
Easy check in, decent free breakfast, great location
Undergoing major construction. I was put in a room directly below the construction which was incredibly noisy and nonstop from 8am - 6pm. It was so loud you could not stay in the room during this time. While construction is understandable for renovations, guests in open rooms should not be placed directly below the work. It sounded like they were going to break through the ceiling above me. The final straw was when the alarm clock, obviously preset by a former guest, went off at 5:29am, then at 5:35am, then 5:45am. I finally unplugged it but it has a battery backup. It went off again at 6:00am so I was forced to get up, turn on lights and put on my glasses to figure out how to clear all the alarms set. Very frustrating! Finally went back to sleep only to be woken at 8am on the dot by the noisy construction above me. So two suggestions, don’t place guests below or near rooms with ongoing construction and cleaning staff should clear all alarms set when the rooms are cleaned and turned over for the next guest. At $300 per night, this is not too much to ask.
When we go to our room, we saw our room door is opened and a tools cart in front of the room, 2 contractors still working in our room and they told us to wait 8 minutes for them to vacuum the room? ( I checked in at 7pm not before 3pm. Why assigned the room which has not been ready?) The room smells new paint , call receptionist for exchange they told us no room. Shower hot water needs to wait for 10 minutes and you have to turn to hot position only, otherwise it will be cold water. Water pressure is very weak!! Toilet paper holder is very lose where paper will falling during pulling the paper. Sink cold water has been turned and I have to turned the cold water valve on by myself.
Do not stay those rooms that have windows facing street especially room 721.
Noise measuring 55db to 64 db . See attached photos
I was in town for a 5-day business trip where it was important to have a quiet space to work, take online meetings/phone calls and find time to relax in-between performances. The construction was so unbearable with hammering, drilling, scraping, and banging happening for much of the day everyday we were there - even on weekends - to the point where my husband and I couldn't have a normal conversation nor take phone calls.
We moved to a different floor where the noise was dampened, but still very present. And at one point in the new room, when we went to take a shower, there was no water, which went on for several hours. The odors were intense, and though the front desk staff was accommodating and kind, Hyatt needs to do better; if extensive renovations need to happen, the hotel should be closed. If a full closure isn't possible, they should segment the hotel so only the sections of the hotel that are construction-free are bookable, or hefty discounts offered with full transparency about the state of affairs explained to the guests at booking.
Stayed here 2 night for business and I’d be quick to say I won’t be returning. The hotel is currently undergoing construction, so I’ll give them some benefit of the doubt, but when I checked in to my room there were construction materials left in it. The bed, nightstand, and floor were covered in sawdust. It looked like the room was being worked on day of and was never cleaned. The updated rooms were mediocre rooms, the positive is they were large. Good staff and good breakfast are the positives, but I wouldn’t return here.
Staff was lovely and breakfast was great! Location good for visiting Tufts.
Should be discounted bc of level of construction going on and out of date feeling of rooms. Please note under construction for much needed updates. Room was very outdated and felt borderline "creepy". However, it was clean and bedding nice.
Tranquilo
