Location was good. Close to mall and conveniences. J Alexander restaurant is a must visit
Renovations underway and understandably things were not at the usual. However the site should have informed before that this was the case. As bookings were made assuming what was advertised was what would have been received. No full gym...only a peleton and few free weights. There had been an arrangement to use a nearby gym but this was discontinued before our stay. One washing machine...for the entire hotel... clothes were dried at no cost by the hotel staff but less than ideal with respect to privacy and definitely not convenient. Room had to be changed as wifi was only available at the door of the room and close to same.
Rooms were well appointed but door handles , light fixture, ( bathroom) could use some attention.

We had to wait about 20min to check in, only 1 team member was working. While the other team member was viewing information on desk top computer.

We have stayed here enough times that we've lost count. And in fact we're already booked for another 3 or 4 stays in the future. We call it a hidden gem because it sits well off the road, so unless you are looking for it you might never know it is there. But once you find it you are likely to be quite pleased that you did.
We are avid cruisers and Florida Panthers fans. This hotel, although not the closest to Port Everglades, is close enough to be workable for a pre-cruise stay. We are fond of squeezing in a Panthers game or 2 before and/or after our cruises, with Amerant Bank Arena being about a 15 minute drive away. Essentially this hotel is about midway between the port and Amerant Bank Arena, so it fits our needs wonderfully.
The hotel has been undergoing a top to bottom refurbishment over the past year or so, resulting in some minor disruptions, but they are doing their best to minimize the impact. We're looking forward to visiting again in a couple of months and to hopefully seeing the finished project.
The hotel offers some (limited) food and beverage options, but if you don't find something there that meets your needs there are convenience stores, numerous restaurants and shops, and even a Target store within walking distance.
The surrounding area is quite nice and we've spent time on several of our stays exploring it by foot. The area is quite "walkable."
The rooms are quite spacious and we've always found the hotel to be clean. Any issues experienced have been quickly addressed by the staff, who are fantastic, by the way. From the moment you walk through the front door they make sure you know that you are appreciated, and that's a big part of why we keep coming back. The staff is truly friendly and always willing to help.
The free breakfast each mornng is a nice way to start your day. If you are looking for a nice, quiet place to stay in the Ft. Lauderdale area with welcoming staff, comfortable, clean accommodations, and a convenient location to shopping, local events and dining, you have found it here!
It is undergoing renovation so the hotel is really worn out. But they make this clear when you arrive. They should make it clear however before you book.
