We were there for a wedding so convenient for that.
Pros:

Loved the location and grounds. The function suits were good. Staff were pleasant enough. Breakfast was the usual eggs, bacon sausages, beans, mushrooms, pastries, the machines for teas, coffees' and juices. Water jars at reception.

Cons:

The two rooms I had booked (13 & 15) were very shabby, the net curtain on the window in my room (13) was torn, the quilt was dirty you could see by the corners of it, the chairs in the room were badly stained and one was very wobbly with the brocade trim hanging of it. The telly had no remote. The iron and ironing board provided were dirty. The taps in the bathroom for the sink both produced very hot water no cold. The bath was also dirty such a shame as it was a very large bath and looked nice and inviting. On the Sunday the shower in the morning was cold no hot water regardless of which way your turned it and the shower knob was rusty! The carpets were also dirty, no air conditioning, 3 fans provided which did nothing! Also to make travellers aware that this hotel is not far from Stanstead Airport so flights coming in to land every few minutes. I have taken photos but having trouble getting off phone to attach!

Beyond dissapointed!

The only nice thing was the location.

Cons:

Very messy and untidy spaces. Corridors had random mess all over the place, deserted cleaning trolleys left with rubbish just sitting in the middle of the hallway. Booked this hotel because of the Leisure centre facilities, which was an absolute disaster. Everything was shut or broken apart from the swimming pool. But the pool was being used to host what I belie was a children’s swimming club? Very overcrowded and loud, not the vibe we were going for. Everything else felt very outdated and rundown. We even ended up checking out the day of our arrival, which I’ve never done before. Very dissatisfied.

Excellent!
Pros:

I am giving this hotel a 5 star rating because the staff are wonderful and all the faults of the hotel are washed away when you interact with the staff. They are superb & made me feel welcomed and could not do enough for me. I loved the grounds and the wildlife they look after very well. Squirrels, hares, pheasants & muntjac spotted on the golf course. I absolutely loved that! The gym is very good & state of the art. I got good body results in that gym. The down sides that I will share in photos is the cleanliness. Mattresses are heavily stained as they do not use mattress or pillow protectors. Large stain on the ceiling directly above where you sleep. Broken kettle wire. Overflowing bins. Noise from cars & people outside bedroom window keeps you awake . I witnessed a lorry crashing into a linen trolly outside my window. Filthy toilet brush. With all this it should be 1 star or 2 for the golf course but I have to give it a 5 review because the staff are incredible. I would recommend.

Poor, disappointing, drab, dated and run down

Revolving door, good parking, free golf balls

Cons:

Hard uncomfortable bed, no aircon, room too hot, room not clean, dark long hairs stuck to the walls in the shower area and in the bed. Pool facilities were dated and out of order. Breakfast was mediocre.

I booked this hotel with the purpose of using the sauna for a weight cut for my fight Saturday however when I arrived sauna and jacuzzi was out of order and had been for a few weeks but nothing on website to state if it did I would of stayed else where also outside the room was lights to a outside seating area that made the room bright all night
