The setting was nice, with a lovely big driveway through the golf course.
The room was big & spacious, with a large bed that was reasonable comfortable.
The bathroom was lovely & big with good lighting, a good shower and a lovely big bath.
The entrance was a nightmare, it was one of those circular doors but was not automatic so you had to push it round to get through. It was really small & trying to push it with luggage was a nightmare.
The reception area felt awkward, part reception, part bar & part resturant. It was just mismatch. A bit like faulty towers!!
The pillows in the bedroom were flat and uncomfortable.
The carpet was stained in several places, there was a small table with a coffee machine on it which had stains and marks on it. The room just felt & looked like it needed a good clean, or in fact a full refurb!
Considering the price was £200 per night i was dissappointed.
Unfortunatle i was unwell during our 2 night stay so did not get chance to see the pool or spa facilities, however with what we saw I didnt have high expectations, but who knows.
Lighting into venue from road so poor could not see entrance. Drive in sooo dark couldn't see reception. No TV working in room for both nights. Bathroom old and tired with flush hanging off
The staff and food were excellent. Dinner was particularly nice so the chef is great. Easy check-in/check-out. The room and location was very quiet.
I don't think the room had been vacuumed as the floor had bits on it you could feel with bare feet. Also, I choose this hotel for the spa facilities and neither the jacuzzi or sauna were in operation. No aircon in the room and only a fan that didn't work, so I fixed it for the next guest.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast i give 10/10 amazing.
Its a lovely mansion, but the rooms need to be painted and carpet needs a little care, also the hall ways need fresh paint.

Smoking outside of the main door
It was very easy to book additional rooms, and the location is beautiful. The staff were very helpful in allocating out group a mini fridge for one of the rooms for medicine, which was greatly appreciated. The rooms were large, as were the beds, with good living space and spacious bathroom. The food in the restaurant was of a good standard.
One room we had booked smelled terribly of cigarette smoke, as the window had been left open and visitors smoked at the entrance below, which filled the room. After requesting a clean of the room, no one came, however the night staff were much more helpful and offered a better room after some discussion.
In another room, the window would not latch closed so the room got very cold during the night we stayed.
All beds were incredibly hard - so much so that we had to sleep on our backs, as hips would not sink into the beds at all when on our sides- this was a real disappointment as would expect something a little more luxury for the price.
Our meal was tasty, however service was lackluster. The staff were slow and not very attentive- it was not overly busy. We had to get drinks replaced, having to explain twice that the lemonades we had been given were in fact tonic water as the lemonade tap had run out. It took 20 minutes to get replacements. We then paid the bill at the end of the meal, but one room was still charged the full price again. This had to be queried by one of our party, and was refunded.
The rooms (especially bathrooms) are looking dated and in need of a bit of TLC. Considering we paid £130 per room (with Booking.com discounts), I feel the experience could have been a lot better. We only stayed one night, but probably wouldn't stay again or recommend.

The hotel itself is a little tired and could do with some renovation but it is pretty good value for money.
Nothing really. We held a function for work and the room and facilities were great. The food was average to be fair.

Room 23 has a problem with some plumbing - guessing a pump on the water in the ceiling is the problem, keeps kicking in and the room is noisy - advice - get this sorted or do not rent this room out
