Very very very very very very disappointing

Cons:

We had to pay for parking. Hidden in the property profile. The staff didn’t seem interested. The room was cold because the heater made so much noise.

Nice location, good size room, dog friendly

Cons:

They had a wedding on, so a little nosey in the evening as went on till midnight. Had pre requested a quiet room away from any noise on booking due to having dog with us but they still placed us by a banging door and we could hear party music.
Took a little while to check in as no-one on reception.

Location was good for a local party

Cons:

The shower didn’t work - we had no water on the morning of our stay. We arrived during a wedding and found it hard tracking down someone to even check in. We arrived early so wanted a drink in the bar and waited for 30 minutes and eventually gave up and went elsewhere. The room was incredibly hot and noisy. All doors seemed to bang loudly and the bathroom fan was so noisy and stayed on for far too long. They also don’t mention the £5 a night fee for parking your car. Nobody available to speak to at check out. Food service in the evening cancelled at short notice.

Would stay again it’s a lovely hotel
Pros:

It was clean and you can see how the renovations have come along. The rooms were very well presented

Pros:

A pleasant overnight stay. Upgraded room very comfortable and well appointed. Fabulous shower! Evening meal was very enjoyable and good value. Excellent vegetarian breakfast. Our dog also enjoyed her stay and had a couple of lovely walks down by the local canal. Super stay.

Friendly, comfortable accommodation at a good price, but with hidden extras
Pros:

Room was very comfortable and well maintained. Overall the hotel has a nice setting and is fairly well looked after (decorators were in during our stay). Staff were friendly.

Cons:

The TV in the room wasn't connected to the internet so had no streaming services, and the WiFi connection in general was very poor. Had to pay a hefty additional fee for car parking on arrival (despite the hotel being in a very remote rural location) which wasn't totally clear when booking and made a significant difference to the overall cost of the stay, which would likely have influenced the decision about where to book had it been clearer.

Needs major refurbishment
Pros:

Room and bathroom was clean.

Cons:

The building is old, dated and in dire need of a major refurbishment. Window frames are rotting and need repairing/painting. Public spaces and carpets could do with a deep clean.
We arrived Saturday evening to be told the restaurant was closed due to a wedding so then had to go searching for somewhere to eat. Loud music went on until midnight with people in the courtyard right below our window, it was impossible to sleep. Sunday night was the same as they were holding a birthday party, again, loud music and party goers shouting and screaming right under our window. Upon checking out I asked why we hadn't been informed of these 2 events and restaurant not being open before our stay, as we would have cancelled and looked elsewhere to stay only to be told that they didn't have our contact details! I find this hard to believe. Will definitely not stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone.

Good low budget choice. All very fair for the money.
Pros:

Good value for money. Rooms were large. Grounds are nice. And great access for a walk along the canal.

Cons:

At this price point £72. It was good value so no need to criticise anything. Expectations were exceeded for the price
