The location was very good, especially as it is close to Nizami Street and convenient for exploring the city. The staff were generally polite, and I particularly appreciate Manager Omar, who was helpful and personally came to our room when we first raised the issue. He listened to our concern, checked the beds himself and tried to find a solution by offering us another room.
The main issue during our stay was the bed arrangement. I booked a Budget Double or Twin Room through Booking.com and selected 1 extra-large double bed in my preference because I was travelling as a couple.
When we arrived for check-in, we were not informed that the hotel did not have an extra-large double bed/mattress available. I paid for the room at reception, and when we went to the room, we found two separate single beds instead of the expected large double bed.
I immediately contacted reception about this. Manager Omar personally came to the room, checked the situation and reassured us that they would change our room. We appreciated his effort and the fact that he came himself to try to resolve the problem.
We were then given another room, but unfortunately it had the same type of single beds/mattresses. The beds had been pushed/attached together, but when I lay down, there was a noticeable dip between the two mattresses, which was very uncomfortable for a couple.
I then went back to reception and explained the problem again to the lady at reception. As we were going out, I specifically asked if they could change the mattress at least or find a better solution while we were away. We were away for approximately 4.5 hours, giving the hotel plenty of time to address the issue.
When we returned, however, the same mattresses were still there. I went back to reception and Manager Omar was there, so I explained the situation to him again. He mentioned that the bed linen had already been put on and suggested that I could go and check the room.
I explained again that the problem was not the bed linen but the two separate mattresses and the uncomfortable dip between them. I also have photographs showing the bed arrangement.
I later contacted reception again and explained to Manager Omar that, according to my Booking.com reservation, the accommodation provided was not what I had selected.
