Location and that’s about it
Old and run down with a pretty pathetic staff
The new beds were a nice touch.
The property is older, and the attempts to keep it looking current are patches instead of proper repairs and renovations.
My mother stayed at the Wyndham this past weekend, and she loved it. The room was spacious, clean and gorgeous. The staff also went above and beyond, by not only helping secure an accessible room for her disability, and the staff at the restaurant was super attentive and king. The server Travis, along with the cooks Randy and Princess were incredibly kind and attentive. They also went above and beyond in not only assisting her in getting a breakfast meal, but also provided kindness, generosity and demonstrated great professionalism. I am extremely pleased that she enjoyed her stay, and most of all - that the staff on site provided such attentive care for an elderly lady. I wish I could give this hotel more than 5 stars, and am forever grateful that the front desk check in receptionist, Travis, Randy & Princess were so attentive and kind. A great property isn't always about the room or location, it's the people who work there from the receptionist to the staff in the kitchen, that makes it memorable. She can't wait for her next stay here again.
I liked the location of the property.
I am extremely disappointed with the lack of communication and concern from hotel management regarding a serious safety incident.
During our stay, the mirrored sliding closet door came off its hinges and fell onto my child, who is under two years old. I immediately reported the incident, and while maintenance did come to repair the door, the handling of the situation afterward was unacceptable.
I repeatedly requested to speak with a manager and was continuously told that someone would contact me. After waiting over a day without receiving any communication, I reached out again myself. When I finally spoke with management, I was simply told there was nothing they could do. No apology beyond the initial conversation, no offer of a refund, no complimentary stay, and no other effort was made to address what happened.
This was not a minor inconvenience—it was a serious safety issue involving a young child. I expected management to take the incident more seriously and demonstrate genuine concern for my family’s well-being.
I would still appreciate being contacted by someone with the authority to properly address this matter and discuss an appropriate resolution.
Location, Front desk staff, female staff in the bar area. Lobby area appearance nice.
My refrigerator was rusty on top, The freezer was iced over, melted during the night and water leaked in the floor, the bedroom floor is scarred very badly at entry site(looked like it was cut with shape object), I used a towel to dry water from floor and room services made bed and left towel exactly where it was. Floor 11 hallway extremely hot, ice machine not functioning, no ice bag in ice holder, elevators did not work most of the weekend. Some guest were stuck in elevator on 2 different times I am aware of over my 2 days. Stairs and Staff elevator use at times.
The location was decent to access restaurants
The pictures online were very misleading. The room was ok but all the furniture was beat up the remote was missing parts and the tv looked like it had been hit. There was a terrible smell throughout the hotel the downstairs bathrooms were unusable. It smelled like marijuana throughout the hotel and smelled like a sewer outside of the hotel. The toilet in our room would flush once then I would have to take off the back cover and mess with the parts to get it to fill back up. Not a very enjoyable experience luckily spent most of the time away from the hotel.
Hot shower with good water pressure. The bed was good and AC kept room cool.
Elevators breaking, first room was dirty and falling apart but they did move us. Just a bit run down.
Hotel does not look the same as it does on photos. Bathroom also has mold
We didn’t even stay. There was a quality control check being done. One person in like waiting to check in said her friend’s room was not cleaned and had a hairball in the sheets. Another man that checked in came back down because they gave him a room that was already occupied. I canceled and left with my two children. No way was I signing up to stay at this circus of problems.
The room wasn’t as clean. The bed wasn’t comfortable and the shower systems wasn’t working. The drainage of the tub wouldn’t go down and it has hair and other guest particles in the tub. We couldn’t take a comfortable shower without the tub overflowing.
I ate at the hotel restaurant several times during my trip and tried various options from the breakfast menu. However, I kept coming back to the "Norfolk" dish, which definitely became my favorite. The bread was always fresh, and the bacon and eggs, prepared by chefs Randy and Princess, were tasty and well-cooked. I would have still preferred some vegetables on the side to add a bit of freshness, though it does not seem to be the local style here.
The service during my visits was very dependable. Our waiter, Travis, was consistently polite, professional, and efficient, ensuring everything was fine with the meal. Thank you to Travis, Randy, and Princess for the steady service and good food.
Dated, dark, smelled horrible in the hallways
The staff was extremely friendly and the location is not terrible but not in the center of downtown.
One of the four elevators worked consistently. Several times, folks were getting stuck on another elevator. The hotel is run-down and has seen better days. Half of the outlets in my room worked.
