Location was our choosing due to family commitments
We did not like to outdated and unkept rooms. The carpet was dirty and sticky . The bathroom was dirty and sink had cracks which had been filled. We were given 3 rooms no7, 122, 219.
We had no milk in the room this was provided after requesting. The second day our towels were taken but no room service was provided.
The biggest problem was that both nights the hotel hosted very noisy function of which the restaurant and bar were taken over. Therefore it was not available to us. We had to travel to have an evening meal and drink. The staff were not attentive, only engaged when we requested basics for a 4 star hotel eg towels and milk.
We booked this hotel on its reviews and rating but our experience this hotel is definitely not 4 stars and should be re evaluated to represent the quality of furnishing, cleanliness and the lift was not working during our stay.
The service was overall quite good. Staff did try and solve problems as they arose.
Incredibly loud noise and disruption from wedding parties particularly on first night of our stay late until the night. We were not warned by staff and this should have been communicated with us either when we booked or when we arrived to check in.
1. Staff very welcoming and helpful.
2. Plenty of parking
3. We had arrived a little earlier than expected and before the notional check-in time, but our room was ready and we were able to check-in immediately with no suggestion of an additional charge.
4. Communication prior to stay was good.
The hotel feels a little tired, but we understand it has recently come under new management, and there were signs that things had already started to be done to revitalise it. This was evident in new tap and other fittings in the bathroom but old shower fittings and a depressingly grimy looking shower curtain (no reason to think this was not clean, but never-the-less unpleasant). Although the tap was of good quality and functionally adequate, as a personal annoyance, had a very short spout.
I got a good price, was definitely worth what I paid for it.
It’s a bit dated and they could give me a key card.
the shower pressure was good, and the parking was plentiful and free.
the staff were lovely
the hotel was shabby and rundown, the lift wasn't working, (but that didn't affect us)
there didn't seem to be much happening in the bar and restaurant, there was never anyone in there.
the room was shabby and rundown, there was mildew on the duvet cover. no headboards, the windows didn't close easily, the room door didn't snap close had to be pulled and pushed, our key cards didn't work and had to keep being refreshed, we were there for a few nights, and on the last night there was a wedding, but the problem was our room was right beside the wedding venue room, we might as well have been in the middle of the dance floor.

Had no chance to review it I wasn’t allowed into the property as I had a pet with me even though I’ve booked a pet friendly place on booking.com
I drove seven hours arrived at the hotel at 1 am well they told me we were not allowed to stay.
