Love how close to the University of Rochester this is and is very affordable, this is our go to anytime we are in Rochester.
no comments, was happy with all.
I like the location of the hotel it was super convenient
There were a lot of things that didn’t meet our expectations, the cleanliness of the hotel, the price jump from the different days, the breakfast was not good and was often repeated.
We were given a room that had not been made up. The next room we were given was atrocious. Previous tenant had smoked profusely in the bathroom, and the smoke smell lingered throughout the room. A full can of Lysol barely put a dent in the smoke smell. We were too exhausted to move to yet another room, and decided to live with it. Door did not lock without slamming it. Real safe.
Honestly nothing
First of all, I was waiting 30 minutes for check in at front desk but nobody was present, I called and ringed many times but nobody answered.
Second, after long wait, a person came and asked a lot of personal questions which was unrelated and disgusting. Then I got my room after almost 45 minutes.
Finally, the breakfast was poor, the room smiled too bad, there were not toilet paper, no towels and the customer service was awful.
Comfortable beds
Carpet on floor. Ew. And the room stank of cigarettes.
The elevator made a scary sound
- front desk guy was great
- the mattresses were quite comfortable
- for a non smoking hotel, the entire place reeked of marijuana
- ice machine was moldy
- elevator felt as if it could stop working at any moment
- dirt on carpets and staircases, garbage in hallways
- how can paid employees day after day just walk by broken fixtures and such in the rooms and throughout the building? Maybe it all happened the day I arrived?
La ubicacion buena la cama comoda
El baño estaba tupido y muy incomodo para banarse, El desayuno podrian mejorarlo
It was close to everything we had to do
Well there was a few things the location and not really to friendly
During a stay of four nights my room was never attended to/cleaned.
The staff woman in the morning was very helpful. She actually brought up a replacement for the broken microwave and came back to help me get it put in the right place when I called back and told her I couldn't get it plugged in there. She also brought up coffee cups when I reported that there were no cups in the room. At least the bed sheets seemed reasonably clean, the blackout curtains worked, and the noise level wasn't too terrible most of the time.
The room was very dirty and many amenities were broken or missing. There was really gross old moldy food in the freezer of my room's refrigerator. The microwave was broken. The night staff did not even try to replace the broken microwave when I called down and reported it. They said I should call back in the morning about a new one. I had to go down and heat up my dinner in the breakfast room microwave. And when I brought the moldy food downstairs to show them, the night staff disdainfully said I should report it to the manager in the morning or to the health department, like somehow it should be my job to do that. One of the night staff helped me with my bags, but then stayed in the room and talked my ear off for an hour when I had gotten in very late and just wanted to sleep. There was no "do not disturb" sign for my door, and I had to go down to the front desk to get one from the staff, after I had already reported the broken microwave and gotten no replacement. By the time I realized there were also no cups with the coffeemaker, just lids, I was too tired to go downstairs again to get cups. There was dirt in corners all over the room and bathroom, and a bunch of trash behind the dresser when I reached behind to plug in the replacement microwave the next day. It was the worst Best Western I have ever stayed in, not up to the brand's standards at all, and was definitely not worth the over $620 I paid for two nights. The only reason I stayed at all was that there was no alternative during a college graduation weekend, so I was stuck. Because of that they got away with charging me ridiculous rates for an absolutely substandard room.
Breakfast good
Elevator door sticking
