Mostly excellent. Will definitely be going back.
Pros:

Excellent staff (mostly) comfortable beds, lovely breakfast.

Cons:

Arms on all the sunbeds need a really good clean then wiped over weekly.

Pros:

The hotel is very nice, clean, comfortable, old-school decor (in a good way). The swimming pool is really good. The kids loved it. Some of the kids played a bit of golf which they enjoyed. The breakfast is fantastic. Best hotel breakfast ever! It's easy to get to the beach in Alvor via shuttle bus or taxi. The beach has a section for Penina guests with sunloungers and towels which was great.

Cons:

We were there at the end of June and lunch options were limited and expensive. It was very quiet which was fine for me but could be too quiet for some.

Golf et plage en Algarve, des vacances très agréable
Pros:

Le charme d’un hôtel ancien qui a une histoire, les jardins magnifiques et bien entretenus, la gentillesse du personnel, le bon petit déjeuner

Cons:

Rien, MAIS il paraît que l’année prochaine il n’y aura plus d’espace réservé à la plage ( avec matelas parasol et serviette) c’est vraiment dommage car cette prestation est très appréciée des clients

Love it but it needs investment
Pros:

It is relaxing, some of the staff are exceptionally welcoming. It feels like home.

Cons:

It is tired being honest and budget constraints are clear. Small things but being added to each year. Refurb of outside started last year has not progressed.

Disappointing stay.
Pros:

The pool is excellent. It's a very big pool with not much guest, so was quite.

Cons:

The hotel looks old. The painting is failing i several places. The room was not good clean, and the TV was disconnected from the power cable. I had to help the staff to connect the TV power cable. Had to ask for gel and body lotion as there was non on the room. The room was near the golf car station and a lot of noise from there was disturbing. I had stay in this hotel 2 times in the past and had enjoy it, but now is a bit disappointing.

Pros:

Breakfast was excellent. Staff were excellent.courteous and always ready to help.
Facilities very good .

Cons:

Menus could have offeredore snacks etc, although if you asked for something of that entire I'm sure it would have appeared.
In house entertainment was very good but not advertised well enough.d

Overall was good
Pros:

Superb location, the staff were amazing and willing to help. Breakfast was great with plenty of variety. Bonus point is the free shuttle from the hotel to the nearby beach.

Cons:

The extras don’t come cheap.

Terrific 4star hotel with great facilities and staff.
Pros:

This is a “proper” hotel. Great staff and food.
Terrific Championship golf course - yes the fairways are struggling but it’s a good course.
Played the resort course too ( 9 holes with different tees for 2nd 9) €25 per 9 fab value and if you play to your handicap round it you have played some good golf. Greens good, fairways and tees could be better.
