The food was excellent and the room was very comfortable.
The room was clean and well set out, with a comfortable bed and working TV. The location in Old Amersham was great.
Coffee machine in the room had no coffee available, coffee at breakfast was unpleasant, and they wanted me to pay extra for an espresso. Breakfast itself was not very nice, eggs rubbery, bacon tasteless. Bathroom and shower were not bad but not the highest quality.
Our overnight stay was good. But what made the stay fantastic was the brilliant service and kindness shown by the morning staff who very kindly served us & our additional guests, who had flown in from Australia very early that morning, a later than usual breakfast in the courtyard. They were kind and gracious with their hospitality. 💯
It was full of character and in a lovely town and just 30 minutes from Heathrow.
Sehr uriges Gasthaus.
Historic interesting property, nice rooms, good breakfast.
Lack of staff, no food or drink available during the day. Very poor for a hotel that size. Told by bland and unwelcoming receptionist that no food available, no explanation even though website states there is food available and the bar is open during lunch /afternoon. Misleading. Was told to go to sister hotel Kings Arms instead ! One of 2 things happening here, no staff available, poor recruitment or sickness , my thoughts however believe to be a business decision by the owners to save money. In peak season July. Very bad.
Great location and loads of character.
Beautifully historic building. It was very clean. The staff pleasant and helpful. The breakfast and dinner were both delicious. The shower was awesome and the bed superb. Great outdoor space
The food and drink prices were a little steep for us but seemed competitive for the area. I am not sure how accessible the place would be for those less mobile than us
Air con in the bedroom
Arriving early on the hottest day of the year and being told to come back at 3. What a welcome! How about: "Unfortunately your room isn't ready yet but please take a seat in the bar. Can I get you a cold drink or tea or coffee?" Just a suggestion!
Lovely old hotel right on the high street
Good GF breakfast
Very comfortable room
Parking onsite
Comfy bed, central location,
Nothing we were happy with our stay
Wonderful staff, quirky yet comfortable rooms, great breakfast options.
Very helpful staff
Staff - very efficient and professional but most importantly friendly and willing to chat.
Room - Worth paying extra for a deluxe room. Mine was a Bailey room on the ground floor - number 112. It had a very comfortable HUGE bed and superb shower. Very spacious with plenty of storage space both drawer and hanging. A bonus having a Nespresso machine in the room.
Food - plentiful and very well cooked and presented. Coffee at breakfast was excellent.
Room - The bathroom door is incredibly heavy and VERY difficult to open from the inside. It simply requires an adjustment on the closure. If I was less able the hotel would have had to find an alternative room.
Not really a criticism but there were way too many cushions on the bed - style over substance perhaps or simply a lack of common sense! Also only one chair for a large double room seemed odd.
