Clean and comfortable, the staff were lovely and super friendly. The room i was in had a huge bathroom with a nice deep bath and separate shower cubicle.
I stayed for work and it's around a 4 minute drive to the racecourse, which was really convenient for me.
Room service was really nice and delivered quickly for dinner and breakfast in the morning was lush too.
It's a little dated, and I had a lot of road noise in my room. The bathroom window was really old and a bit drafty, which also allowed some noise through.
Nice atmosphere with Friendly bar staff, A good spa when working. Easy to access and use EV Charging.
Small uncomfortable bed with a duvet that was to small for the cover.
We had disturbed sleep due to a large green glowing emergency exit sign over the window next to our bed, in room 341.
The swimming pool was clean and a good tempreture. The reasturant was lovely at night and the bar area was nice
The area for the wedding we attended was nicely decorated and a perfect size for rhe number of guests.
The hotels decor was very tired in the majority of areas, the room had scuffs and marks all over the walls and a wardrobe door was missing. In the bathroom the tap leaked, it was missing parts and the bath looked grubby. There were no amenities in the bathroom such as a shower cap, cotton pads or ear buds.
The breakfast looked as though it had been out for hours, the yoghurt did not look fresh and the selection overall was pretty poor. The tea and coffee facilities also need to be updated i feel. I have stopped in other Macdonald hotels and I feel the standard of this one was far below what I was expecting.
I have stayed at the hotel and visited the spa a number of times so was excited to come back for a relaxing weekend.
I am so disappointed with our stay and feel that we have wasted our money and should have gone elsewhere.
The rooms were very tired but we didn't mind as the majority of our stay was to be spent in the spa. Or so we thought.
We had not booked treatments as one of our group is unable to have them due to medical conditions, so we were refused the use of robes in the spa, meaning we had to change back into our clothes and then back into wet costumes to leave the spa to have lunch or get drinks etc. As a spa hotel, at a premium cost, I would expect the use of robes as standard for any hotel guest. This really marred our stay and who spa experience.
The jacuzzi is not working and when you press the button, the whole unit comes out of the ground.
The steam room wasn't working properly and neither were the experience showers.
The whole spa was very tired and worse of all, dirty. With clumps of hair and tissue around the outdoor pool that were there 2 days running.
What should have been a lovely relaxing weekend was one full of frustration and the feeling that we could have spent our money at another hotel and had a much better experience. With food and drinks for one night we spent £1400 for the three of us. I have come away feeling very aggrieved.
I live locally to the area and often recommended the hotel to visiting friends and family. I will no longer and sadly will not be returning.
i was cold in the room and when i tried to turn the dial up it went to 28 degrees then fell every time to 25, obviously a pre-set application, when i complained i received a condescending answer from the hotel, sarcastic and dismissive. i had to out a towel on top of the quilt and was cold through the night
Always enjoy my stay here while traveling the area on business. Comfortable, clean and safe. Not had a chance to use facilitates but have viewed them and they look really good. I'll get to it some day seems a waste not to take advantage

The staff at breakfast were incredibly helpful and got my breakfast for me as I was using a walker
I cut my arm on a sharp lock on the bathroom door
The accessible bathroom looked like a hospital bathroom
When I couldn’t get a taxi due to signal at 11pm I called the hotel to ask them to book me a taxi back to the hotel, they just said NO!
I think it was definitely overpriced.
