In the heart of the town centre. The hotel has recently been renovated, with the rooms beautifully decorated, modernised and yet retaining their Georgian charm. Handy to have private parking available (at £20 a day).

The property is a great location, approximately 5 minute walk into the city centre but plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants to see on your way.
We stayed in a superior double room which was nicely decorated and extremely spacious. The bed was very comfortable. One of the most comfiest beds I’ve stayed in for a long while.
Though the hotel is situated next to a semi busy road, the windows were very good at stopping any noise from disturbing a nights sleep.
The car park advertises they have electric charging bays. We were hopeful to use them as we had driven a long way and it would have eased some mileage anxiety by charging during our stay. However, two petrol cars were occupying the electric charging bays. Staff did not wish to contact those occupying the space to move to the other available spaces.
The doors of the rooms are also extremely loud, they’re not soft closing or been made to prevent slamming. This did result in some disturbed sleep. Additionally the floor boards of the rooms are very creaky, which unless you’re on the top floor, it’s also resulted in a lot of disturbed sleep. Our room had rather creaky floor boards and we did feel bad for those below us.
