frankly. Not a lot, the room was big and comfortable compared to other. overnight stays,
the restaurant was deserted in the evening, and looked lonely and outdated. so I chose Room Service. I have never halved such an overcooked soggy burger anywhere. allegedly the meat was "Scottish Wagu Beef" but it was so brown and overcooked as to be unrecognisable and tasteless. the bum was drowned in juices and collapsed in my hand. best thing with the bought in chips which were just about OK. I was tired and exhausted at the end of a long day with more energy, I'd have thrown it back at them,
another irritation was in the morning, the corridors were full of cleaning equipment seemingly desperate to see us go,. breakfast was OK but the cereal bowls were nothing, other than a rice bowl. Tiny. I had to ask for a decent sized bowl to hold hold my Muesli and fruit
Unkept, not clean, room was shocking
The room was tiny with a random fridge on the floor. The cost didn’t fit the room or conditions

Spa facilities . When we visited the lights in the changing room were not working. Very little space
The breakfast. The spa facilities were good and not crowded . I always found parking.
My room key kept getting deactivated, so I had to go to reception to reactivate it. There was no power socket near my bed to charge my phone.
The breakfast was of an average standard for a supposed 4-star hotel!
Room 76, at the very end of a long corridor was, by no manner or means, the kind of room I’d expect from what is advertised as a 4-star hotel … the room was so tatty with chips on the walls, scuffed paint, a cracked dirty sink and just a general malaise and run down feel to the room! Scariest of all is included in the attached pictures … bare wires on a towel heater right next to the bath! Health and safety nightmare! I have stayed in 4-star hotels globally and even Premier Inns which are far cleaner and not anywhere near as tatty and run down!

The glass on the shower had black mould on it
The spa treatments are quite pricey
The food in the bar wasn’t great and it was very expensive… as were the drinks
Ee loved the grounds and the history of the house
We thought it was a little dated and needed some tlc. Our room was very dated in the main room and didn't match the new bathroom suit.

The staff were super friendly and very helpful. They made the stay special. Receptionist went out of her way to show us to the room as it was some distance. The restaurant staff were excellent. The Breakfast manager went out of her way to make good the problems on the first morning with food running out. She looked after us very well. All restaurant staff and bar staff were so good
