Clean
The room was comfortable and clean and the hotel was generally pretty nice, with a lovely garden area. Great location with good amenities nearby.
Reception staff unfortunately are the reason I hold a somewhat negative perception. They seemed untrained and were unprofessional. We had a few issues with validating car parking. After we were told we wouldn’t have to pay, they later said we had to and were poor with communicating what was going on and saying ambiguous comments about whether we’d be fined. Next, the pool was advertised for hotel guest use, however, there were hundreds of families queuing so we were concerned that we were unable to use it. We asked for help on what to do about this and staff were again very poor at helping, reassuring and communicating. We were told that there would be reserved spaces for hotel guests around the pool but there wasn’t, it seemed they didn’t have a concern about pool capacity with the queue being the length of the garden which was very disappointing. We were told if we wanted time by the pool to come at 7am!
Breakfast, facilities, surrounding areas, the grounds, the bar areas
The initial welcome was quite bad and it tainted the other staff interactions but the others were very nice and welcoming. The first was riddled with biases presumptions and hopefully not prejudices. The surfaces in the room weren't clean, hair on the bed and bath, dirty floor needs a hoover, stains on sheets curtains and netting, very uncomfortable mattress (I felt every spring) there was no explanation of breakfast times or location. After check in time, the cleaners were still there and there were sheets and etc outside the rooms, it felt like they weren't really ready. It wasn't a nice stay and then I just felt like everything was dirty so wasn't nice. Tea and coffee facilities but no spoon or stirrer to make them with, water in the fridge was not cold and the fridge was not pleasantly scented, yeah no return for me and mine
