It has waterfall looking dining area but not very clean and organized
Disappointed , very tiny rooms , we clearly mentioned my mom is totally disabled & on wheel chair , they did not inform us there is no elevator we ended up paying without using the room . They charged us even though it was their mistake as we clearly mentioned in booking the room is for totally disabled person . The waterfall looking afternoon tea area that we came for was not clean or organized .
Lovely setting and very relaxing atmosphere
Nothing
Room overlooked river asked for double got a twin, location ideal, breakfast food great service aweful
lack of staff, service and filthy toilets
Fantastic location, a traditional hotel which was very well maintained. Our room was superb, immaculately clean with beautiful river views. The staff were friendly & accommodating. Food was excellent. Complimentary parking included in our stay. All in all a great stay and will definitely return.
Difficult to find a negative to be fair.
Position
It was tired carpet and curtains in the bedroom was stained and disgusting it needed a complete refurb
Stayed here twice before with no issues. Sadly this time, everything was wrong. The level of staffing and the cleanliness were poor. There were multiple issues in the room with fan/kettle/towel rail not working and shower bracket and safe broken.
The cleanliness of the Lawn area was appalling and the glasses in the bar were filthy.
Given this, it was overpriced in all areas. We were going to eat in the hotel one night, but changed our mind as we were not convinced that had not also gone downhill.
Sophie on reception was great and very helpful and apologetic but she was let down by the rest of the team
Athira and Sophie went above and beyond the extra mile. Nothing was too much for them and with a ready smile. We will be definitely returning next time soon!
The good location and great services, the staff are friendly especially Asrar.
Location and ambience loved the saxophone player and outdoor drinks area
Needs a little tlc in corridors upstairs
Service, cleanliness and location
Maybe a bit tired in places but offset against all the good points.
The location and the view over the river were lovely BUT....the afternoon tea was extremely disappointing. The "dainty" sandwiches were far from it, and were dry at the ends. The scones were good but the jam and cream were insufficient and lacking in quality. Worst were the cakes - a square of tray bake chocolate cake, a stodgy triangle of brownie, a tiny lemon meringue and a choux ball - very bland and lacking imagination. To cap it all when I asked for a refill on my tea I was told they had run out.
For the record I paid in full including the 12.5% service charge (as the waiting staff were good) but the experience left us feeling distinctly ripped off. Poor value for money is being kind!
Another diner was heard to say it was pleasant enough but definitely not special.
Location
The menu was a bit limited
Fantastic location, and very comfortable rooms
With temperature in the 30c + the aircon kept tripping off, which meant a sleepless night. There is a fan in the cupboard with no plug to allow the relief. 2 accessible plugs in the room which allowed to charge the phone, but that had its challenges as the plugs kept falling out of the socket.
First morning breakfast service was very poor. The staff seemed disinterested. So much so I nearly walked out. Very slow service.
Bar never had bar staff in it, this makes it feel like you don’t want it! Leaving it generally empty throughout the stay.
Location was amazing. The food in the Indian Restaurant was really good.
Breakfast was a shambles. 40 minutes for a coffee, an hour for food. Some guests just left, others complained but to no avail. No clear roles and no leadership. Faulty Towers!
Location
Breakfast
Terrace furniture
There were no towels in our room!
Dog friendly room but no sign of welcome treats or a dog bowl etc.
Exterior of sash windows in our room in a terrible state of repair (old, cracked paint etc).
Plastic guttering around hotel was very dirty (a days work with a soapy rag would have bought back a sparkle?)
The terrace was packed with residents on a lovely evening but the 2 for 1 cocktails ended at 6 pm and resulted in people either walking away or staying in their seats......A bit of thought from the management or staff would have been to get someone out to wipe down the tables, plonk a bowl of crisps or peanuts and anounce another hour of the cocktail deal....there was a lack of initiative or drive!!
The proximity to town and the views of the river
First night pillows were very hard did get them changed the next day.
Breakfast was a shambles first morning took 30 minutes to get a cup of tea and the next day even longer had to ask after 40 minutes of waiting for a cup of tea and had to go and find someone to order breakfast, 2 couples walked out because they could not wait any longer.
Everything was somth , it’s pretty good place
