Perfect location, comfortable room
Wifi not working when we were there
The beds were so comfortable after a long travel day. The student working at the front desk was so friendly and helpful with recommendations. We loved the central location and the history of the hotel.
Avoid. Rooms are unbelievably hot as the air conditioning is “permanently” broken. You will not sleep in the Summer. The management refused to offer any gesture of goodwill back and rolled out a robotic response with no care for a paying customer. Simply, once they have your money they do not care. There are better places to stay in Oxford.
I have stayed here about four times for work. Sadly at this time of year the prices go up and it's outside my budget. Super helpful front desk, right in the middle of Oxford. No evening meal or room service but lots of options outside the front door .
A hotel with a relaxed atmosphere. Very pleasant staff who can’t do enough to help. It has character and is centrally located opposite the university’s examination halls which is lovely to see if you are new to the area. We arrived for a two night stay to be told we’d been upgraded for free to the Ruskin suite (the best room in the hotel) with a fab separate living room and big bathroom. Very friendly staff at breakfast and reception, and the cleaners are lovely too. It a historical building (which one has to bear in mind) and in keeping with the local area. If you want to explore Oxford and the colleges on foot, or the shopping or cultural centres, this is a great choice. We’ll be back!
My friend and I booked through booking.com. She had a mid life moment and booked the wrong date. The room was non refundable however we understand that the hotel can make an exception. I am flying in from Switzerland and due to limited availability in Oxford, we had to book elsewhere. Silverstone is on this weekend so the rooms could have been easily rebooked by the hotel. They have refused point blank to do anything except for a date change and potentially additional costs. Shocking customer service-go Radisson!
Centralt beliggende, venligt personale.
Vi fik tidlig morgenmad, da vi skulle nå et fly ♥️
Very over priced for one night. Old furnishings and decor in room. Uncomfortable pillow.
location staff and breakfast
bathroom windows inoperable and bedroom broken and boarded up leading to steam and no ventilation in bedroom and bathroom
It’s location. It was so easy to walk around Oxford from there.
The breakfast buffet was plentiful but the hot food wasn’t hot enough and the fried eggs were stone cold.
The central location is a big plus and is very close to the bus-stop for Thornhill Park & Ride. The rooms are clean and the staff, friendly. They will store luggage after check-out so one can have more time in Oxford. There are plenty of choices at breakfast, English or Continental.
If you like cake soap over bottled, bring your own.
Os quartos são amplos e bem limpos
When we arrived, after walking from the park and ride on a hot day, the reception was really unpleasantly hot. We had to stand there with our bags for 20 minutes while the lad on the desk tried to ‘check if we had paid’ He then announced there was no air con in the room and if we needed we could have another fan. He didn’t have enough key cards for the room so we said one will do.
The room was boiling on the first floor. The fan was poor and blew hot air around. The window I managed to open a bit more somehow in the middle section. The wine with the room was 2 individual bottles of cheap wine not a bottle. It was unbearably hot in the room and we couldn’t have a rest there so we got changed to go out It was like getting changed in a sauna.
The cleverly taken pictures of the bar drew me to the hotel but we went straight out from the heat. It was quiet in the hotel so the lively bar image seems false
When we got back late evening the room was still hot. We barely slept The worst nights sleep in a hotel I’ve ever had!
Breakfast the next day did thankfully have air con The English breakfast wasn’t very fresh or hot. The cheese and ham continental offering was sweating with a fly on it
As other reviews mention, the location is great ✔️
Don’t think there’s an outdoor garden after viewing the website, it’s a view of across the road and possibly the botanic gardens nearby.
The outdoor seating was below our window in the car park.
This is a supposedly luxury hotel
We didn’t allow it to spoil a big birthday break but it certainly wasn’t the comfortable stay we had paid for as a treat.
I wouldn’t stay there again.
Having read the other reviews, I feel sorry for those on the ground floor with no windows that would open and those on the top floor in I presume even hotter temperatures!
Be more transparent on the website and drop your room rates while you are actually doing ‘the refurb’
Poor value for money
Very little
There is no parking available as advertised. Room was extremely hot no aircon. Cobwebs on windowsills. Slymmy/ rotten cucumbers on breakfast buffet. Staff don’t clean tables during breakfast. Overall a very bad experience
De kamer was niet helemaal proper. Het hotel is aan een grondige verfrissing toe. Airco zou ook niet misstaan.
Booked last minute and specifically this hotel as it offered air conditioning yet there was none when we arrived. I appreciate it was exceptionally hot which is rare but not only did the air conditioning not work (it hadn’t for a long time looking at it) but it took staff hours to provide a fan that was ridiculously loud. Also window was sealed shut (ground floor). Hotel well placed for sightseeing and rest was fine but we were annoyed that they are advertising a feature that they do not provide.
