Shorter stay would have been preferable
Pros:

Breakfast and bar meals v. Good
Great views facing the lake and grounds to walk in
Helpful reception staff who organised a change of room after first unsatisfactory night

Cons:

Did not get a luxury room as described.
The bathroom plumbing. Plus high bath only suitable for fit persons. But was provided with step aid in new room

A beautiful location in a wonderful house that could be beautiful. In need of some TLC.
Pros:

The location is fabulous with amazing views.

Cons:

Needs some updating, a lick of paint and deeper cleaning. Shocked at extra charges at breakfast.

Pros:

Could not believe that given the price we paid there was a premium for 2 of the breakfast courses?

Cons:

Dinner menu and value was poor.

So we went to the local pub which was excellent.

Enjoyable
Pros:

All staff were welcoming and friendly and the location was amazing. Will be back for a longer stay.

We won’t go back to this hotel, it needs a full refurbishment.
Pros:

We loved the view and the cooked breakfast was good.

Cons:

The hotel is very shabby and run down. Stone steps down to lake are a trip hazard. Dressing gowns were old and had yellow marks on. Towels old and frayed. Bedside lamp was wobbly. Receptionist was very unwelcoming.

Outstanding and delightfully dog friendly.
Pros:

We have returned here several times, the stunning views make the property along with the excellent customer care and service. It’s also extremely dog friendly which is amazing to see and experience. 100% recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Cons:

Our room had a very naughty toilet, it didn’t like to be flushed and caused us quite a lot of work. Needs some attention, very poor mechanism! Otherwise all was perfect and faultless.
