Clean, staff was great.
Completely unacceptable for a wheelchair user. Very small pathetic stair lift. Having to call reception and ask to leave the room and go back again is somewhat of a prison experience. Breakfast was up there with one of the worst piles of greasy slop I’ve ever tasted.
The location was great for us to get about from. Easy check in and out. Good car parking. Has been recently refurbished in lots of areas.
The mattress was very firm and the pillows were lumpy!
Great location and food excellent. Way beyond what I expected from a chain hotel.
Breakfast did get a bit busy.

Exceptional from start to finish. Quick, straightforward last minute booking, easy check in, the room and hotel were incredibly clean. Bed super comfy, and i particularly loved the small, thoughtful touches in the room: complimentary chocolate, wine glasses, fridge, bottle opener (all of which duly used 😅).
The bar was great, clean, attractive, and not overpriced.
Will most definitely return!

Bath is not draining properly and it was filling water when I was having shower.
The Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Rooms were nice and spacious and clean (albeit slightly dated) with a good heating/cooling systems installed. Breakfast was really nice help yourself buffet with a good range of full English and continental options. A good bar and restaurant with outdoor gardens to enjoy in warmer days/evenings.
There are no lifts, just stairs and the building is quite elongated so your room could be a good walk away. Next time I will look at a ground floor room due to accessibility as I have a minor mobility issue. Usually its not to much of a problem but I did struggle on this occasion and some people in a similar circumstance might struggle if they are not aware.
We had a pleasant family stay with our children aged 6 and 8. The room was spacious, very clean, and comfortable, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was also delicious.
Please do not allocate Room no 229 to families with young children until the bathroom safety issue is fixed. There is a metal piece fixed to the floor near the shower area that caused my son to hurt his toe. The bathroom also has poor ventilation. This could be a serious hazard for children. We reported the incident to reception at checkout.
