The location is good.
Unfortunately, our stay was seriously affected by constant noise disturbances, especially during the night. It made it very difficult to rest properly, which is something you simply expect from a hotel stay.
What disappointed us even more was the way the situation was handled at reception. One staff member initially seemed understanding and willing to offer some form of compensation or discount because of the inconvenience. However, another colleague intervened and said — in Dutch, assuming we would not understand — that they “cannot give discounts every time there are noises.” Unfortunately for them, we did understand the conversation perfectly.
The issue is not even mainly about the discount itself, but about the attitude and lack of professionalism. If guests raise a legitimate complaint about repeated noise problems, the response should be respectful and solution-oriented, not dismissive behind their backs in another language.
Overall, the experience left a very poor impression, and we did not feel particularly valued as guests.
Nice clean room. Nice size. Nice staff. Good breakfast. Good location, short walk from the train and bus station. Easy access to Keukenhof garden. Leiden is a very nice place to spend some time. Take the canal cruise, wonderful.
Nothing.
Locatie, kamer, badkamer
Te dikke hoofdkussens, later hoorde ik dat je die kunt ruilen, dat wisten we niet en is ook niet gezegd. Ontbijt beetje duur voor een standaard hotel ontbijt.
Great location.
Staff at the restaurant really not fit for this purpose
Fahrrad Miete, ganz unkompliziert
Das Frühstück mussten wir jeden Tag neu reservieren.
I stayed in the hotel for one night (31st April to 1st May, 2026). Unfortunately, the room wasn't very clean. The coffee cups were dirty, sticky and covered in some sort of residue. The Nespresso machine was also dirty. The dispenser of shampoo in the shower had several hairs stuck on it, as did the walls of the shower. The bottom of the toilet was covered with orange-coloured debris/limescale. Not exactly what I would expect from a 4-star hotel, we had had better experience even in many B&Bs.
On the plus side, the pillows were not bad. All in all, OK for staying overnight once, certainly not twice.
We loved the location so close to the central train station (and the buses going to Keukenhof gardens). We booked a suite room on the 5th floor. It was lovely, very spacious, light and bright with big windows, super-comfortable bed, modern bathroom, and good storage and bench space for luggage and all our travel stuff. It was very quiet and just so nice to have lots of space to move around in. The breakfasts are very nice too, located in the hotel's huge attractive restaurant. The hotel is close to a great Jumbo supermarket, and walking distance to Leiden attractions.
We were disappointed the room didn't have a minifridge (just a "coolbox") but the hotel was great in giving us fresh milk for our coffee whenever we wanted it so it wasn't a problem. We would have liked an extra chair at the desk for the 2 of us to sit at the desk. Breakfast was very good but we really missed having a toaster for all the nice bread. We were surprised that such a big busy breakfast room didn't have a toaster.
