Staff amazing, venue beautiful, room clean, spacious and well maintained
Ease of checking in, quick and informative.
Double bed, was 2 single beds joined, with a definite lump in the middle, couldn't sleep across it.
Location, great for park and Ride to york. Great staff, food all good.
Room 303 – Superior Room
Unfortunately, the "Superior Room" was far from superior and did not justify the additional cost we paid as a birthday treat for my wife.
Lounge Area
The settee was very uncomfortable to sit on when watching TV.
The half-size fridge was simply placed on the floor underneath the television.
The coffee table was in very poor condition, with numerous scratches and signs of wear.
Bathroom
The bathroom was generally in poor condition.
The laminate veneer on the shelf was damaged.
The bath was unusable because the plug did not seal properly.
When the Jacuzzi function was switched on, it spat out black debris.
The sealant around the tiles was in poor condition, and some tiles were cracked.
Shower pressure was intermittent and unreliable.
Bedroom
The curtains did not fully close, allowing light into the room.
There were no convenient plug sockets or USB charging points near the bed. The only USB port, located high up in a lamp, did not work.
Overall The room felt very dated, more reminiscent of the 1990s than a modern superior room. In terms of condition and quality, this was probably the poorest superior room we have stayed in. Given the premium price paid and the special occasion, we were extremely disappointed.
Right location
There wasn't anything I didn't particularly like. Although looking a little dated. In need of a bit of an update
Location
Good breakfast
Bedroom & bathroom dated and required decoration
Friendly staff
Lovely stay
Just returned from a two night stay at this charming place. Staff are extremely welcoming the room was large very clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Breakfast each morning was excellent with plenty of choice would definitely stay again 😀
Lovely staff.
Parking.
Great value. Parking is free. Has a big grass area if you’re traveling with dog that’s really nice.
Rooms are a bit old, and humid. Bathroom fan was pretty loud.
Large comfortable bed with bath/shower. Reception areas spacious and good to sit around.
Although Fairfield Manor is beyond the ring road it is perfectly placed for the Park and Ride. From door to Minster it took us only ten minutes (buses are very frequent and quick)
Good value compared to city centre hotels.
Couldn't work out how to adjust aircon, but temperature was ok
Great location to get into York
Nothing
Location was ideal
Room needed a total overhaul and refurbishment
