Good breakfast, love that you vary some of the egg, meat and potato choices. Clean and well maintained room and entire hotel. Great location just minutes from my favorite beach and not too far from the historic district.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Nothing really. Just a few minor plumbing issues. (Loose tub handle and slow draining tub) A little pricey but worth it.
Nice area
Didn’t know it would have dogs on our floor one kept howling and because pool was a couple of doors down there were children hollering up and down the hall late into the evening.
We stayed here for 4 nights for a baseball tournament. We love Hampton Inns - nothing better than a good lobby waffle! And while we've stayed at worse, we've definitely stayed at better.
The place could use a refresh for sure, especially in the rooms. Wallpaper was tired, there was paint chipping. The ventilation in the bathroom was horrible. Walls/ceiling would just be coated in condensation. The shower was stopped up upon arrival; the moment you turned on the tub for a shower it was accumulating water in the tub. The spigot was loose and the diverter didn't want to work and we were afraid we would break the spigot pulling the diverter. Looked like mildew/growth on the ceiling. The chair in our room was so stained/unpleasant looking that my wife put one of the bedsheets over it to be able to sit in it.
The hotel just had a musty smell/feel to it, notably in the rooms.
It wasn't all bad by any means. The location is fantastic for anything you might want to do in Charleston in general. Close to Shipyard, College of Charleston, the airport, downtown, beaches, etc. Also lots of restaurants and shopping right there. The whole team was staying at the hotel so we walked to the Charleston Sports Pub for a team meal one night. The breakfast was the usual Hampton fare (love that they have different waffle flavors each day!), and the breakfast staff was SO friendly.
Lobby was a nice place to hang out, especially since the rooms were a little run down.
Another big turnoff was that there was someone there selling Hilton timeshares or something. She approached us during breakfast as my wife and I were at our table reading. She was a perfectly nice lady, but that's the first time I've ever been approached by a salesperson there and I did not like it one bit. Feel bad they make someone do that. NO ONE wants that.
Overall it was fine. Beds were comfy and they actually had a firm pillow and soft one, so nice to have that variety.
My stay was very enjoyable. The staff were very helpful, especially with my late arrival and questions about driving into Charleston the next morning. Isabelle was a gem during morning breakfast. I enjoyed the swimming pool and close proximity to my niece's wedding venue; The Pavilion at Pepper Plantation. I felt safe as an older woman traveling on my own. Charleston's French Quarter was only a 20 minute drive away. Found parking easily and enjoyed my self-guided walking tour to a few area sites. Beautiful hotel. Friendly staff. We loved it all.
Very nice hotel. Had that Charleston feel. Breakfast staff were very nice. Overall wonderful stay. Thank you. The decor and architecture looked like Charleston. Great staff. The lady looking over the breakfast area was very friendly and accommodating. Just loved her spirit.”
For a free breakfast it was pretty good

The hotel was close by a nice little plaza, Trader Joe’s, a good coffee shop, and not too far away from downtown Charleston, the beaches, and Shem creek!

Excellent breakfast in a light and airy breakfast room. Good size room, comfortable bed, quiet location but well placed for our needs.
Nothing that I can think of. It lived up to what I expected from my online research and what I would expect from a Hampton.
“Room was updated and very clean. Carrie got us checked in with absolutely no delay. Hotel is well located for shopping and dining. A great stay — thanks.”
Location, staff, good breakfast.
The employee that greeted everyone at breakfast was very sweet and wonderful.
Friendly and helpful staff. Lobby clean. Good breakfast. Comfortable bed
Rooms need updating and light maintenance work. Sofa was old and worn.
The property was pretty clean but could use major updates.
Noticeable wear and tear on structures throughout the property.
