Lovely Heritage Hotel in a great position with amazing staff. Well done everyone

Staff were exceptional. I would like to mention Concierge Cameron who was so helpful. Also Thomas in the Restaurant who patiently helped me choose the best wines for my meal. Overall the staff were very attentive and friendly

Comfortable, well located hotel and we enjoy the heritage addict with calm ambiance.
Pros:

Location and room comfort good. We did find that the ground floor room one family member had in the heritage wing did have a strong musty/ damp smell unfortunately. However overall room comfort and access was very good.

Just about everything. There is a constant at this hotel. It is the staff selection, training and quality of their performance. This applies in all cases, from reception, to catering, to room service, to parking, to maintenance. It is outstanding, across the board. This has been so for many decades. It is applaudable. The hotel clearly seeks to be the best. It is.

Cons:

Very little. The lift stopped between floors, alarmingly. We escaped by managing to open the doors and jumping to the floor outside the stuck lift. Lifts fail. The hotel cannot be blamed.

My accommodation was booked and paid through Bookings.com in early April - the amount paid was $448.
I checked out and paid for breakfast on my VISA Card - there was no mention or note on the hotel Invoice about any additional charge to be applied to my credit card.
On checking my credit card statement online a few days later I was very unhappy and concerned to see the Hyatt Hotel had put an extra charge of $448 on my VISA Card. Online reviews indicate that I am not the first Hyatt Canberra guest to have the same bad experience. I contacted the hotel by email - they apologised and said it was an error by staff; they promptly applied a $448 credit to my VISA card to cover the $448 charged in error.
I wonder if the hotel would have found the error and corrected the situation if I did not bring it to their attention ?

Loved the time we spent in your beautiful hotel, and all the staff were polite, friendly and happy

Didn’t realise breakfast was included so went out for the first one. But the breakfast on the last morning was excellent.
Loved the bed but not the pillows (too hard)

Cons:

The only poor thing was the service in the Lounge bar, where the drinks and food took ages to come. Possibly not enough staff on duty. But the staff were all polite and friendly, just not enough of them.
