Disappointing.
Pros:

The breakfast was great.

Cons:

Friday afternoon arrival - the front desk had a line to the door - that lasted until atleast 9:30PM that evening. Luckily, the desk staff were all very kind & helpful even though they were clearly overwhelmed.
We had dinner at the restaurant, sat ourselves at the bar. All staff was overwhelmed, and we hated to even ask for utensils and definitely not a second drink - luckily there was a full carafe of iced water at the end of the bar, so we filled our cocktail glasses ourselves. The AC must have not been fully functioning as it was not cool.
The lazy river was nice, our son enjoyed it. We only stayed for a couple hours as there was no chairs at all available and no pool towels available?
We paid for 2 nights - but ended up going back home Saturday afternoon since we only live about 20 minutes away. Honestly, we felt like it was entirely too much work to stay with how over crowded & under-staffed the property was. This was our first time staying & I don't see us returning.

Tee Time Trouble and Checkin Nightmare at The Woodlands Curio”
Pros:

My recent stay at The Woodlands Curio Resort presented a mixed experience. While certain aspects of the property were solid, operational issues and limited access to advertised amenities created notable frustrations.

Check-in was complicated by out of service elevators and a non functioning key-card system at the front desk. Staff provided an escort to open the room, but the elevators remained unavailable, preventing us from bringing luggage upstairs. Once the elevators were restored, the escort had disappeared, requiring multiple return trips to the desk for a working key after the system was repaired.

I booked this hotel two months in advance specifically for the advertised golf access at The Woodlands Curio Resort. Only after booking did I learn that tee times cannot be reserved until four days before arrival. When I tried to book, no morning times were available on the day we wanted to play. The resort has an agreement with The Woodlands Country Club that allows guests to play, but securing a convenient tee time is another matter entirely. The resort is not transparent that availability is entirely at the country club’s discretion. My interactions with the club left me feeling like an unwanted outsider.

On the positive side, the guest rooms were spacious, well-maintained, and clean—providing a comfortable base during our stay. Dining options are available, though the main restaurant is located in a separate building roughly a tenth of a mile away.

Overall, the property offers appealing accommodations, yet improvements in operational reliability, clearer communication about golf access, and more convenient parking options would enhance the guest experience.

NOT A RESORT
Pros:

Just visited this so called “resort” with family to celebrate a birthday. This place is very expensive (about $350 per room per stay plus all the million other fees). My balcony view was dirt! It’s very dated and the stench on the first floor is horrible. This place needs a complete renovation! The lazy river is short. The other 2 pools are just that “pools”. Nothing exciting about this place. Lounge chairs had mold buildup. Place needs a deep deep cleaning. On a positive note, the smoked wings and smash burgers were delicious. The bartender in the lobby, VINCENT, was AWESOME! He was very social and professional. We stayed at the bar for a good 3 hours! However, “Liam” from the restaurant bar was very “cold”, not social at all. He appeared agitated. We ate there n left due to his negative vibes. ALSO… the parking situation is terrible. Spend your money else where. This is my experience, my observation and my option. Hope it helps.

The lobby bar and the service is perfection
Pros:

Great service. Both the bar; Vicente and the restaurant Back Table (Shaylee) had excellent service.
I am not a cocktail drinker, but after a long day, I thought I would give it a try. Vicente surprised me with something extraordinary that made my day.
The resort is beautiful, but the signage is confusing. Massage services would be a welcomed addition.
But if you are around the Woodlands area, this Resort is the place to stay.

Worst Experience Ever
Pros:

⭐☆☆☆☆

My wife and I chose The Woodlands Resort to celebrate our 10-year wedding anniversary, and unfortunately, it was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we’ve had.

We reserved a balcony room but were placed in a first-floor patio room instead. When we entered the room, it wasn’t properly cleaned. There was hair in the sink, red feathers on the floor, the toilet continuously ran and required maintenance, and the body wash dispenser in the shower was empty. We also purchased s’mores kits from the resort, but the graham crackers were stale. We never received Wi-Fi information, the ice bucket was missing an ice scoop, and when we requested face towels, we were given hand towels instead.

The customer service made the experience even worse. We were given conflicting information about microwave availability. One employee told us the resort didn’t have microwaves at all, while another explained they could be rented but none were available. When I called back for clarification, the staff member was rude and dismissive. We also requested additional towels, and while waiting, we went downstairs to report the poor customer service. When we returned, a staff member was leaving our room despite our Do Not Disturb sign being displayed. Entering an occupied room with a Do Not Disturb sign on the door is unacceptable.

To make matters worse, the front desk was overwhelmed because their systems were down. There were hundreds of guests waiting in line, making it nearly impossible to speak with anyone about our concerns.

We understand that every hotel can have an off day, but this was issue after issue with very little accountability. We expected a relaxing anniversary getaway and instead spent the weekend dealing with maintenance problems, inconsistent service, poor communication, and multiple inconveniences. Sadly, this experience did not reflect the quality we expected from a resort of this reputation, and we cannot recommend staying here based on our experience.
