OK in a pinch, but there are better options in the area.
Pros:

The location was very good. The access to and from the room to the main lobby and exit was short & direct. The room itself was very quiet.

Cons:

While, in general, the space was fine, it seemed as though some details were not thought through. One small square bed pillow for each person, and although the room was booked for three people, the towels and glasses were set for two. The bigger issue was the noisy air conditioning unit, which would not turn off. The staff eventually told us to unplug it. This solution was fine because the nights were cool (8C), but I would not want to sleep on a hot night with that machine. I have to say - Do not eat at their restaurant! - They dare to call it a pizzeria, but the pizza is a frozen crust more closely related to cardboard than any food. The worst pizza I have ever eaten.

Pros:

Great location. Good facilities. 90% staff were great. I really appreciated the male front desk when I checked in 1st night on June 27. He showed me the upgraded room and gave me some discounts.

Cons:

Good staff except Ayane on June 29. I was back at 9 pm to pick up saved carry on and check in again for upgraded room. Ayane seemed focused on her phone when I arrived lobby. She didn’t do small talk either spoke one more word. And she seemed not happy. I have no idea…

Outstanding staff, some lovely rooms.
Pros:

This was a stay of two halves. The second night was really good, the first night was awful. The staff were outstanding and the location downtown is brilliant with bus stops outside.

Cons:

The property is very badly dated and inside it’s like a trip back to the 1990s. The worst aspect is the rooms without external windows, weird carpeted internal balconies and a feeling of being enclosed and overseen. I asked to be moved, and got a lovely room for the second night.

Pros:

Location what makes it worth to book. Right in the middle of the Banff downtown. 5 minutes walk to any major restaurant/bar in the town. Restaurant in the lobby was a nice bonus. We ate there only once but it was good food and nice service. Good specials on the drinks. Free underground parking was nice too.

Cons:

We got a view on the brick wall of the other hotel. Also there's zero separation between our split king\queen rooms so virtually there's no difference if you are booking just double queen. We were traveling with our in-laws and I booked this room to have some privacy but it's a one big room with a bathroom in the middle.

Our stay at Banff Ptarmigan Inn was perfect for a comfortable place to rest during a fun trip exploring the town of Banf
Pros:

Great location, helpful staff, and really great value considering its proximity to everything in Banff!

Cons:

The layout of the building with split levels and not much directional signage was a little confusing, but definitely not a big problem.
