Lovely hotel
Pros:

Very quiet despite being on a busy street.

Close to everything including the hospital.

Huge rooms, beautiful big spa bath.

king bed.

Cons:

I had to remind the staff i paid extra for a room with spa bath because the room i was given to begin didn't have one.

The room was very dusty, bath needed a clean before use

The tap for the bath has the hot and cold symbols in the wrong spots so when you want hot, you have to turn it to cold.

You can't change what the split systems are set to, so if you're cold, you have to rug up

Very good value hotel with close proximity to Saint Vincents Hospital Fitzroy. Would recommend.
Pros:

The proximity to the SVPH Fitzroy. The security.

Cons:

Lack of 240v GPO's in bedroom, I could not use my sleep apnoea machine nor my phone charger. The pillows, they were exceptional ly thin. Neither of these two items were an issue on my previous visit a week earlier and in a different room on the same floor.

Staff was lovely, but room very tired and in need of a make-over
Pros:

Location (although close to housing commission), close to many restaurants and pubs, parking underneath the building, bed comfortable

Cons:

Bathroom was dirty, room smelt, curtains dirty and falling of the racks, noise from trams, window paint peeling off

Disappointing because i have been staying at the Metropole for a number of years needs to improve.
Pros:

Location was good, Friendly staff

Cons:

we moved from two rooms the first had a large broken glass mirror door and shower screen was also broken.
The second room had a broken glass shower screen.
The third room was ok however in all rooms the tile grouting was absolutely filthy.
Also the air conditioner had no heating mode.

Pros:

Convenience of being close to the hospital

Cons:

Communication. I ended up staying for a total of 9 nights and they only serviced the room twice and that was because I asked them too. I didn't know they had a complementary laundry until day 7 but asked for a clothes airer 3 times to do hand washing. The room wasn't the greatest and it was an upgrade due to the elevator having maintenance done. I had to drag everything up the stairs, there was hair on the floor in the toilet. The glass on the shower door in the corner was black and after requesting a quiet room to be (upgraded) to a room that was on Brunswick Street all I could hear was traffic & trams , I think the window needed resealing. The maintenance of the room is very poor. I have to wonder how often the owner looks at the rooms. The staff were lovely but very dismissive when I asked for anything ie: a rubbish bag for the bin, "Oh just come and ask for one" ?? It was convenient for me to walk to St Vincent's hospital and the bed was comfortable.

Clean, tidy, comfortable and well equipped unit.
Pros:

Location was great as I had arrived from 300 kilometers away for admission into Saint Vincent's Private Hospital Fitzroy at 7am the next morning. A 10 minute walk to Hospital Admission Desk.

Cons:

Everything was very good, there was nothing that I did not like.

Our last stay here
Pros:

The location is terrific

Cons:

The hotel is very run down - lights dint work, carpets are in our state, couches are stained, the shower leaks so badly that the tiny bathroom floor gets flooded, bed was hard. And to top it off, they will only provide one key - which when you have different itineraries, is totally unacceptable. We have our up with it previously because of the location and large rooms, but no longer. This was our last stay after having stayed maybe 40 times
