Room was really good bed and overall room was clean. Great location we came in for the AFL game and made it on time. Hotel was close to SCG. Easy to get around and very close to kings cross which we liked.

Staff on front desk friendly
Place was very run down , my heater wasn't working and had to walk down to reception as they didnt answer the phone . Someone came up 10mins later , claimed it would work in 15 mins, asked for extra blankets . He came back 10mins later with 1 blanket. Was cold all night.
Mini bar was warm and looked broken , so was lamp next to bed.
Got woken up at 7.30 to machine operated jack hammer.

Road work out the front of the hotel made it very treacherous leaving and entering the hotel
Nothing, people rate this place highly on its location. I would in fact suggest that everything else about this hotel removes any benefit of a good location. It is a dump!
The cockroaches in the room, the cigarette smell in the carpets, the mold in the bathroom, rooms that haven't been renovated or looked at since the 90s. I would not suggest anyone stays here.

Not a single thing!
Great convenient location to eateries in Darlinghurst Rd and Victoria St. Unfortunately, the local City Council chose to undertake major footpath upgrades in front of the Kirketon, with Very little to No prior warnings,,,, which made access to and from the Hotel, a navigational planning headache. The Hotel Staff were very apologetic and embarrassed at the lack of Council notice and were always alert to the comings and goings of their guests. Some of which had appointments at the St.Vincents Hospital, a very short distance from Kirketon.
Overall, (aside from the footpath upgrade works), my stay was comfortable. Thankfully, I am able bodied and could negotiate the construction works with care. The front of house staff, manager and cleaning staff were wonderful to speak with and help were they could.
My room 316,, was tiny. The tight design of my room was commendable, fitting private toilet & bathroom in one corner and clothes hanging, bar fridge & teas and coffee's in the other corner made for no wasted space. Definitely a Single room ! The separating wall thickness between rooms must be Very thin. Because there was no privacy with conversations between multiple guests in neighbouring rooms, even when they were in the shower ect ect ect, and phone conversations between guests and callers were quite easily audible and understood,,,, except when the phone calls were in another language at 3am. Sadly, I didn't appreciate this part of my stay.

The blood on the quilt which I had on my face when I woke up on the final morning of my stay.
Period blood on the quilt was just disgusting.

Window was broken so cold air was coming in. They couldn’t move our room so we had to stay in the same room with heater on full
