Love the ambiance of the hotel and the huge rooms .
The hotel needs maintenance and updating . Chipped paint on door frames and exterior windows . I think it’s time to change the scuffed original dark wood cupboards in the bedrooms.
Beautiful historic building
Not in town
Location near to the Australian War Memorial was excellent
Getting to our room was a trek and a bit of a mystery - need better directions.
Good location . On site pub with meals good option if you don't want to go out at night.
The room was a bit shabby. The whole place needs sprucing up.
Excellent location. Interesting building.
The curtains didn’t cover the window - so a lot of light in the room and a lot of noise from outside - we were in room 126 which overlooked the arrival area. Some double glazing on the windows would make a huge difference.
The room was comfortable for a short stay, the facilities are all there but we didn't use them. The breakfast is quite basic but that was fine as we aren't big breakfast eaters. My husband noted that the coffee isn't great.
the mattress on the bed, was old, had been in that same room on a previous trip,
The location was great. A 10 min walk to cafe's and 10 mins to the War Memorial. We also enjoyed the sports bar.
The room was quite tiny. We stayed for 3 nights so we coped but if it was for longer I would have asked for a slightly larger room.
Room was comfortable, good setup for the dog, staff friendly, breakfast was good value and we enjoyed the happy hour each afternoon. Dinner in the bistro was wholesome pub food with great value specials each night.
Bar, breakfast and reception areas were cold caused by the open entrance area and the cold weather.
The room was spacious and cold.
The Bed was really comfortable and with the spare blanket it was good.
The jug/ kettle was perfectly sized, for filling under the bathroom taps.
Choice of tea bags was wonderful as I could choose different aromas for evening and morning.
The towels, hand towel, bathmat and face washer were thick and absorbent.
The room was cold.
The bathroom fan/light was very noisy.
The toilet was too close to the wall, and I had difficulty getting off the toilet without bumping my head on wall :-(
