For the most part the room and location were decent, but I don’t think we will stay here again.
Pros:

Property is located on the river front

Cons:

After checking in at 7:55p we went to our room and the keys did not work. Since the office closed at 8p it took 90 minutes and several phone calls to after hours staff to get someone to let us in and make new keys. Also the sheets on one of beds had dirt marks on it in several places.

Great Location & Very Comfy
Pros:

We chose this hotel for its location on the river and close proximity to Southport activities and affordability. Based on what we got for the price we paid, I was very impressed. Check in was easy and our room was easy to access. The bedding was perfect. It was clean and so comfortable. Overall, the room was very clean and had everything you could need. The “beach” out front at the river was so peaceful. The pier was very nice - the only thing I could think to change would be to add some benches out on the pier. We did not use the pool, but it appeared to be very clean as well. We have already recommended this hotel to our friends and family.

First time to Southport
Pros:

Hubby and I enjoyed our stay a River Hotel of Southport. Our room was a good size and was very clean. The bed was very comfortable. We had a 2 burner cooktop, microwave and full size refrigerator. Disappointed there wasn't a toaster as it would have been nice to make toast, english muffin or toast a bagel so breakfast was limited for us. We had a great view of the river so we could watch boats, ferries and large ships pass by from our balcony and the private pier. There was a nice water front pool and a cute little beach with beach chairs provided or you could use your own. We will come back and we recommend this hotel.
