Noise and light some of which could be improved with some small adjustments. The

The bed was comfortable. The location was central. Staff were nice. Check in was smooth.

Cons:

There was a lot of street noise in our first room. Courtyard rooms are quieter but there was too much light seeping in from the courtyard lamps and various blue light sources in the room.

Just okay.
Pros:

Location is great. The staff was wonderful! The rooms are quite spacious.

Cons:

Upon immediate inspection, I noticed that the toilet was not clean. The lower half of the toilet bowl on the outside had dried poop on it. I always clean the toilet, sink, and shower in any hotel. I did not notify staff of the unclean toilet, because I arrived a little late and had to turn my attention to the reason I was visiting in the first place. Additionally, when booking a room do not book a street view. The street is very loud throughout the night.

I loved the hotel and the convenient location
Pros:

The staff was exceptional. The room spacious and comfortable. I didn't expect how good the service was and the friendliness of the staff.

Very nice hotel with great hospitality.
Pros:

The staff were extremely friendly & helpful.

Cons:

The rooms seemed a little smaller than we expected. Our room with the king bed was great but our travelling companions Queen room seemed a bit tight. Unfortunately they weren’t able to book another king room.

A great place with loads of character and warmth
Pros:

Excellent location! We were there for a family wedding and every place was within a few blocks. Also lots of funky vintage shops and great eateries, and the local farmer’s market was a wonderful Saturday morning excursion. The room was very comfortable with nice touches (cushy bathrobes, coffee) and so quiet I wondered if there were any other guests on the floor! Staff were very friendly, accommodating and genuinely interested in us having an optimal stay. Shoutout to the amazing Reception desk staff: Israel, Jared and Jelina, all wonderful people! Also the very kind gentleman who gave me some extra coffee pods late Saturday night!
We also loved the ambiance and history, especially learning about Al Capone and the Rum Runners.
We will definitely be returning to the Walper!

Cons:

Nothing, it exceeded our expectations! (Did wish the Breakfast menu had pancakes, but still found tasty options)

Comfortable and clean!
Pros:

The room was spacious and clean. I loved the walk-in shower. The staff were friendly and the location was good. Parking was across the street in a parking garage, so that was all right.

Cons:

Someone knocked on my door at 10:00 a.m. even though I had the 'Do not disturb' sign up.

Central, nicely upgraded, comfy.
Pros:

It’s a landmark that we admired when we lived down the road decades ago. It’s so close to Victoria Park which we enjoyed revisiting. We walked to a great Indian Restaurant for supper.

Cons:

Parking lot as offsite but still close. Kitchener has some tough issues to deal with.

Historic, central, comfortable.
Pros:

The location is excellent for nearby bars with live music. Central to nearby amenities. The staff are very friendly and eager to help out. The parking garage next to the hotel is convenient. There is a lot of history here which is preserved in the design of the rooms.

Cons:

The rooms are a lackluster for the price. Very small bathroom. The carpets looked dirty, but that may have been partially the design. The mini fridge was also extremely small. Wouldn't fit more than a few water bottles.

Such a lovely and peaceful stay, I look forward to returning.
Pros:

I requested that I have a room facing away from the street as I am a light sleeper and needed rest to participate in on campus classes for the week. They heard my request, noted it upon check in, and gave me a very peaceful and comfortable room. I was so impressed that they remembered when I arrived and not simply when matching me to a room. The customer service and comfort was excellent!

Cons:

I would have liked a microwave, but at the same time I didn't go out of my way to ask for one or if one was available.

We love the location and convenience, but next time we will ask for an interior room away from the street.
Pros:

Conveniently located. Clean. Great Staff.

Cons:

We were on the 4th floor facing Queen St. and between the traffic noise and people yelling on the street we had a difficult time sleeping. Around 2am things would calm down, but before that it was incredibly loud. I had to use earplugs and a noise machine app to try and drown out the noise. It would also be nice to have coffee in the lobby for those guests who prefer a bigger coffee in the morning. The Nespresso machines are great, but the coffees are tiny.
