Hey Reception was incredible. Marriott accommodating really appreciated all the staff there they were top-notch rooms were beautiful.
I know it’s not their fault but it was pretty hot. We were on the third floor and they can’t put an air-conditioning units because of the historical building factor we did have a fan so summer is a bit hot.
The bar was not well stocked, ie no alcohol i.e. brandy, available for a nightcap with friends
Location was good. Staff were helpful.
No evening restuarantl
Beautiful location, stunning hotel amazing staff friendly professional a great experience.
Nothing I can think of.
We recently visited the Norfolk Arms in Arundel and had a mixed experience.
The outdoor restaurant area isn’t particularly easy to find, and better signage would make it much more welcoming for first-time visitors. Once seated, the service was pleasant enough but quite slow, especially considering we only ordered sandwiches and a pizza. We waited much longer than expected for such a simple meals…
That said, the homemade pizzas were excellent—fresh, generously topped and full of flavour. They were definitely the highlight of our visit and made the wait a little easier to forgive.
Overall, the food quality was good, but improvements to the speed of service and clearer directions to the outdoor dining area would make for a much better customer experience.
Excellent love to stay
Nothing loved it
Great location and comfortable, well-equipped room. Particularly Like the secure parking.
The signage said food available when it actually wasn’t. We tried twice to order food and drinks but none were available, even though the board outside said otherwise.
Location was great
Communal areas were a little dated
The room looked out onto the street, which is a pleasant and interesting view. It was a bit noisy on Saturday night but did settle down by midnight.
I had to wipe down a lot of the surfaces in my room as they were very dusty. Overall the decor of the room and the bathroom was quite tired and needed a spruce up.
The breakfast was an extra £15.50 per person and it was extremely disappointing in terms of quality and quantity. We were seated promptly in the breakfast room and then ignored for more than 20 minutes. We eventually managed to attract the attention of a member of staff. Also during breakfast another guest came in to take photographs of the room. I think that should only happen outside of the breakfast period. I definitely would not recommend the breakfast but the room itself is very characterful.
Location
Facilities / water in the room
Courtyard probably a better option than the main building as newer
It was too hot & no air conditioning
A fan was provided but did very little
Not the fault of the hotel as unusual weather
Great location on high street with car parking
Excellent friendly staff and good service
Nice large room in main hotel
Breakfast room is small for size of hotel
The location
Bar closed at 8pm on a Friday and we were not being advised of a residents bar. However that was serving guests either!
Great location, very clean, nice size room.
Rather expensive for what you get, having said that it is in a prime location
This was our second stay at this hotel. The room was immaculate, fan was on and bottled water was in the room which was a lovely gesture due to the hot weather. Location and private parking all fab
Nothing not to like!!
From booking the room online through to checking out everything was straightforward. Easy to park on arrival, room was exceptionally clean and had everything needed in it, including a fan already in the room without having to ask for one on what was one of the hottest days of the year - much appreciated. Comfy bed. Polite, friendly and helpful staff. Thank you.
I celebrated my 90th birthday with 40 family and friends with an afternoon tea at the Norfolk Arms and have run out of superlatives describing the care, attention to detail and the entire presentation as being fantastic.
The staff were patient and courteous and attentive to our needs and full marks to the chef with the variety teatime delicacies created.
Congratulations to Lewis, the new general manager, on a great start.
Dear Lewis,
What an absolutely fabulous experience we had at the Norfolk Arms. Thank you so much for making my mothers birthday such a fantastic day to remember. Yourself, Hannah, Alice and chef went above and beyond to make the day a wonderful memory. Arranging drinks in the bar first on such a hot day was perfect and all the extra food, mini prawn cocktails and vol au vents along with all the delicious sweet cakes were noted and super appreciated. And there was not a dry glass in the Club Room at any time.
We shall certainly be returning soon, hopefully for a roast lunch which has been highly praised. Best of luck with your new team and many thanks again, Rachel
