Nothing. It looks good from outside
Staff passive aggressive, spa is main feature, when I turned up everything was broken and closed. The room had massive weird red stain on floor, the toilet was still dirty, the fire alarm outside rang the entire night.
Lovely room a jnr suite big balcony and a very spacious. Breakfast is always good and today was no exception. Car par is free

Le sol du couloir grince et les murs sont fins on entend les voisins et les gens passer dans le couloir. Les portes ne se ferment quand les claquant.
Le jour où nous sommes arrivés il y a eu un problème chimique dans la piscine donc piscine et spa fermés. Pas de netflix cela manque pour un hôtel 4 étoiles.
Nous avions remplis un questionnaire pour les préférences des chambres et aucune n'a été prises en compte. Ils ont demandé si nous venions pour une raison, j'ai dit que c'était l'anniversaire de mon père. Mais nous n'avons même pas eu une petite carte pour le dire, pourquoi demandé s'ils ne le prennent pas en compte.

The pool was closed (which was a shame as that was the main reason I picked this hotel) but despite that closure, apart from saying ‘sorry’ nothing was done by the hotel to reflect the fact there were fewer facilities that we had effectively already paid for.

The spa and swimming pool was out of action , we didn't get told there was a marathon on Sunday morning so we had to wait 2 hours to get out the car park.
Already told the hotel that my husband was a vegetarian, only 1 vegetarian sausage for the stay, as they ran out. No jams at breakfast.
The pool sauna steam room was out of order, this is the reason we booked this hotel, we asked for a reduction in the price, so we could use the money and use facilities at another hotel with a pool etc they only offered us a free 1 nights stay, but our stay was completely ruined
The hotel was very posh, and you got a gorgeous big room, staff were very friendly.
Although they did inform us that the spa facilities wouldn’t be available, with only 2 days before we arrived was to late to arrange another hotel, we did pay extra for this hotel to use the facilities, so that was a big shame, as we where only in town for one night as we had visited the zoo earlier that day.
They did give us a free token each for a drink at the bar, which was just a small gesture of goodwill compared to the expense of the spa. But on a whole we still really enjoyed our stay.
We booked an afternoon tea with a buy a gift voucher we received. It was our 23rd wedding anniversary. We have enjoyed many afternoon teas over the years at many different places. Unfortunately, this was by far the worst. I do not usually do reviews but my Husband and I were really disappointed. Signage was poor, welcome was poor, sandwiches were soggy and strange taste, weird bread rolls, crumbs on floor, tables not cleared. Waitress spray cleaning the tables next to us and wiping with a napkin! The scone was delicious and still warm, unlike the coffee. Waitress and staff all busy chatting. Sorry but we will not be returning.
It’s located very near Chester and Cheshire Oaks Outlet and is a step up from the usual chain hotels. The property has lots of character, a nice spa/pool, and free parking.
Unfortunately the room was cold, the central heating being off. However we appreciated that given the size of the place if all the room radiators were on their fuel bills would be prohibitive.The situation was remedied as when raised with reception we were given a small electric heater which worked fine.

Broken coffee machine, and we chose this hotel so we could use the pool etc and it was closed and we were not given any compensation, and the staff were not apologetic. We had planned our stay around a swim and steam and were denied!
