We stayed at the hotel in May 2026. At the front desk, we encountered a sour-faced and unfriendly lady. However, after that, we received amazing and dedicated service from the lovely Derick and Jerry. The hotel rooms are large and spacious compared to NYC standards. We even got a room with a balcony, which is also a rarity in New York.
Please note that there seems to be a nearby building undergoing renovation or construction, so drilling sounds start at 7:00 AM. It can actually serve as a great alarm clock if you're looking to head out early and explore the city! 🙂

En la habitacion no habia un banco para poner la valija, y en el baño no ha casi nada de lugar de apoyo para cosmeticos personales
Tampoco hay mucho espacio de guardado de ropa (2 cajones chicos)
Rob and Jerry are exceptionally hospitable. Because we’d stayed at Moderne in the past they remembered us and offered us an upgrade. The hotel is clean, the beds are comfy, location is a 10 of 10… and the team here is the best. Will stay again!
Nothing, it was the worst experience I’ve ever had in a hotel.
Smell was horrible in the room. There was only a tiny window in one corner that was block by the aircon unit and a permanent blind so no light at all was coming into the room.
Aircon unit was making horrible noise and room wasn’t properly noise isolated so we could hear all that was happening in the lobby.
Had a great experience at Moderne. Fantastic location, very comfortable, quiet room and great bed, super clean. Moreover, the Moderne has amazing, helpful and friendly staff (special kudos to Joey -hope I got his name right, because he was awesome.) Will definitely return and recommend it without reservation.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and were truly impressed. The hotel is very modern, clean, and comfortable, and the location was excellent. We traveled as a family and felt very relaxed and welcomed throughout our stay.
A special thank you to Keenen and Hamza for their outstanding hospitality. They were both incredibly friendly, professional, and always willing to help with anything we needed. Their positive attitude and genuine kindness really made our experience even more memorable.
We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.
Hotel was undergoing some renovations but great location, close to everything. The staff was very hospitable and accommodating, especially Derick. Room was tiny but very clean and bed was comfortable. We will definitely stay again!

Booking.com said breakfast was included. This was misleading as all there was for “breakfast” was coffee and a danish.
Rooms were a bit small.
Mattress was old and not very comfortable.
The location
The rooms have no windows. There is a tiny 12 inch wide window that hardly opens and is looking at a brick wall 7 inches behind. You can’t tell if it’s day or night. The rooms are terribly small. If you like tiny rooms with no windows and no fresh air, this is for you.
Jerry, Derick, Andy, and all the staff were courteous and attentive. Little things like umbrellas in the room, letting us leave luggage because of a later flight, & even letting us be in the lounge when our flight got delayed but we’d checked out. Room was clean & great service!

The location is good.
The facade of the building was being renovated, so the windows were closed, and the curtains too.
The A/C was very noisy
They write breakfast included, but you cannot call it a breakfast, just some cookies and coffee.
The hotel is not 4 stars at all, faaar not 4 stars.
Small charming hotel in a great location. Clean and comfortable rooms. Very friendly staff doing their best to make you feel at home, especially Andy and Jerry
Perfect. Andy and Jerry at the reception were extremely welcoming and always helpful in finding new attractions to explore. Rooms were clean abd the bathroom seemed newly renovated.
Deferential will come back when back in the city.
