It really is a secret garden hotel, opening from just a door on the street onto a quiet green space. Worth paying the higher rate for the garden view! The staff (particularly Alma!) were really relaxed and friendly as well as efficient and helpful. The breakfast was not huge as the space is limited, but very classy and including eggs cooked to order. Our last morning we had to leave too early even for the 7 am start, but they made us a packed breakfast to take with us. The location is good, close to the top of the funicular up from the river.

The hotel was in a very good location, close to main shopping street, plenty of cafes close by and very close to bus stop for trip to Foz do Douro. Wasn’t annoyed by street noise despite the central location.
My room was nicely decorated, wasn’t bland and had a bit of personality about it. Wasn’t the biggest of rooms but was big enough and had everthing I needed, including mini bar and kettle etc. Bed was comfortable, good choice of pillows. Some people have commented about shower only staying on for seconds before having to press button again, didn’t have this issue. Shower was good, with excellent pressure. The bathroom isn’t that private as sink in room, you step out of the shower into the room etc, didn’t bother me. Air con and wifi worked well.
There is a small garden/outside sitting area, not big but good to have in city hotel in centre of Porto.
The staff were friendly, both at check in and at breakfast.
Breakfast was very good, with good choice including option of cooked eggs. Items were replenished regularly. Leftovers were left in breakfast area so that you could help yourself later in day if you wanted a snack. There was also a small honesty fridge.
Would recommend and would stay in again.
We loved this hotel. It was set in an old building and was very deceptive from a little entrance door leading to a lovely reception. All staff we met were so friendy and very welcoming, particularly Alma and Anna on Reception, and the lovely lady who greeted us at breakfast. The breakfast was just exceptional and so different. The company make a lot of their own teas and products and it was just all so fresh. The communication from our booking onwards was very good and the hotel answered my queries quickly before we arrived anr upgraded our room. Going to look at other hotels in this chain, as we liked the ethos of the place. The price we paid was so reasonable too in a big City. The staff were all great. Thank you to all.
More time to enjoy the hotel. We only had one night due to onward travel, but will book again when in Porto again.

I didn’t like the bathroom setup. Not much comfortable for a shower and lack of privacy.
Wir hatten einen rundum wunderbaren Aufenthalt. Die Lage des Hotels ist hervorragend, die Zimmer sind sehr schön, sauber und gepflegt. Das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet und ließ keine Wünsche offen.
Besonders hervorheben möchten wir das junge Team an der Rezeption. Alle waren unglaublich freundlich, herzlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben uns vom ersten Moment an willkommen und bestens aufgehoben gefühlt. Auch dass wir unser Gepäck nach dem Check-out noch im Hotel lassen konnten, war für uns eine große Hilfe.
Vielen Dank für die herzliche Gastfreundschaft! Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und kommen bei Gelegenheit gerne wieder. Absolute Empfehlung!
