There was no valet when we arrived. Desk clerk said she could park our car for the extra $25 per night. Or we could download an app to pay the parking meter. Free parking from 9pm-9am. The hotel walls were black with black floral carpets. I did not get the Alice in Wonderland vibe. It felt like a very old hotel. Room was clean and big. Mattress felt more like a futon but was still comfortable. The windows were painted shut so they wouldn't open. I understand the reason because a guest could probably walk out onto the roof. The shower handles paint was worn off and the shower instructions were on a card in the shower. Went looking for ice for our room, found the broken 3rd floor ice machine ended up going to the front desk for ice from our 8th floor room. The staff was hit or miss. Some clerks were always there others only seen sometimes. Never seen anyone in the restaurant/bar. The door to the restaurant was usually locked so we had to walk around the corner in the heat to enter. The glass glassware in the room was a classy touch, no microwave but there was a frig. Walking distance to the riverfront and bridge and old market neighborhood. It was quiet at times felt like we were the only ones there.

The staff that greeted us spoke too fast and did not seem welcoming. She tried explaining things to us so fast.
Jeff at the front desk was awesome. He checked us in late at night, answered all of our questions, offered free parking since valet had already left, and even walked us through the garage to our floor.
Unfortunately, the valet the following day was extremely rude. He seemed irritated to see us in the parking garage while we were preparing to leave and escalated the situation after I tried to explain. Maybe it hasn’t occurred to him that guests may need access to their vehicles outside of the limited hours he’s on site. He then dangerously peeled out in another guest’s car out of frustration. I would not trust him to drive my vehicle.
