Hotel Solun

Das Kunstwerk an der Wand fand ich etwas gruslig.

A shame there is no restaurant for an evening meal, but we were directed to local eateries.

No quarto em que ficamos (no último andar) havia uma parte em que o teto era mais baixo (faz parte do designa do quarto). Minha esposa não teve problema, mas como eu sou mais alto, bati a cabeça 2 vezes acidentalmente.

Disappointing experience — Far below four-star standards

Our stay at Hotel Solun was extremely disappointing, particularly for a property that advertises itself as a four-star hotel.

The heating in our room was not working. When we complained at reception, we were told that the hotel's climate control system should already have been switched from cooling to heating, but that this had not yet been done. Apparently, the change might take place the following day — precisely when we were checking out. In other words, no solution was offered during our stay.

Even more astonishing was the response when we reported that the bathroom heating was also not functioning. The receptionist simply stated that, unfortunately, the heating does not work in some rooms.

Is this really an acceptable response from a four-star hotel? The hotel is apparently aware of these problems, yet guests are expected to accept them without any practical solution.

The bathroom had additional maintenance issues. The shower water pressure was weak, making showering less comfortable than it should be. Furthermore, the toilet flush would occasionally get stuck, leaving water running continuously. We actually had to tap or hit the flush mechanism to make it stop, simply to avoid wasting water. This is unacceptable, particularly in a hotel of this category.

Breakfast was another disappointment. The selection was rather limited, with a particularly poor variety of fresh fruit. Certainly not what one would expect from a four-star hotel.

Customer service was equally unsatisfactory. There seemed to be little genuine concern for guest comfort or willingness to resolve legitimate complaints.

We are not asking for luxury or special treatment. Functional heating, adequate shower pressure, properly maintained bathroom facilities, a decent breakfast, and professional customer service are basic requirements, especially in a four-star establishment.

Servicepersonal beim Frühstück eher desinteressiert, unprofessionell und tw. überfordert. Speisen, die beim Frühstück warm hätte sein sollen, waren eiskalt und dadurch sehr trocken.
Zimmereinrichtung ist in die Jahre gekommen.
