The location with the lagoon and the gardens, the pool are wonderful, breakfast is excellent with nice views. Rooms and hotel are a bit dated and dark for my taste but high quality and spacious and comfortable.
Quality of sleep poor for us, hardly slept at all. The permanent noise of airplanes taking off, loud music at night until 4:30 am relatively close by outside. I also had expected more given the reputation and for a ‚leading hotel‘ in terms of service. Employees did not always convey that ambition. Especially the check in and room we got was not smooth. The room we had as a couple without kids was next to where they had families staying, kids with frequent tantrums and lots of noise, despite paying over 650 Euros per night.
This hotel is superb in every way. The staff are all helpful, courteous, friendly and professional and most have good understanding of English language.
We loved everything, the relaxed atmosphere, the great reception staff, the wonderful helpful pool side attendants and the polite and obliging housekeeping staff and not forgetting the great porters.
The food is fantastic and absolutely nothing is too much trouble for the hotel staff to ensure guests have a great stay.
We have stayed before and we will return again.
There is nothing we did not like!
Everything
Nothing
This is a nice property. Spread out so it doesn’t feel crowded.
The staff are great, particularly the waiting staff. The rooms are pretty old and tired but functional and big with plenty of storage, a coffee machine, kettle and fridge. Big old fashioned and noisy a/c unit in the corner of the room.
It’s located in Quinta de lago and being a walker, lovely promenade walks, particularly if you like wildlife and birds.
The negatives. The sunbeds are taken in literally a blink of an eye! The pool boys allow this. Yesterday, a row of 9 beds and another random two around the pool were reserved all day with no one taking them. This is a real negative for me and really should be stopped in my opinion.
The beach is a 15 minute walk along a bridge and has basic sun loungers which is surprising for a 5* hotel.
The breakfast is nice.
The rooms are not as clean as I’d like, and I smashed a vase and asked housekeeping to please help me clean it. I was still finding shards of glass a day later. The phone under the receiver was filthy.
I would say this is a 4.5. * hotel
Location to beach.
Too big too busy.
This was the second time we have stayed at the Quinta Do Lago Hotel and it was fantastic. The staff are unbelievably helpful and make the whole experience amazing.
The hotel is positioned at the tip of Quinta do Lago so the views from the hotel of the Atlantic Ocean are fabulous - I'd recommend rooms on the 5th and 6th floor with a sea view, it's worth the extra !
The pool area is just perfect and the food in the restaurant is first class - we normally eat out in the many fantastic restaurants in the area but the food and service was so good in the hotel we stayed and ate in the hotel several nights.
Lunch in the hotel restaurant was great and good value for the standard of food and view!
We will definitely be going back - hopefully in September.
