Mount Nelson, A Belmond Hotel, Cape Town

From the moment we stepped into the Mount Nelson, we were made to feel incredibly welcome. The atmosphere is timeless, but it was the service that truly stood out. A special thank you to Asanda, who made our High Tea experience a memorable one. Her attention to detail and warm hospitality added a personal touch that made the afternoon feel extra special. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a classic Cape Town experience.

Wonderful experience, high tea was amazing, Thuli and Craig were very knowledgeable and helpful.

The hotel was amazingly located with grand decor in an old school sort of vibe. The grounds had beautiful gardens, and the rooms were well appointed.The staff was amazing and well trained in all levels of staffing. The place was immaculate, and the rooms were well maintained as were the common areas. The bar in the small dish eating there was wonderful. The dessert Baker was amazing creating masterpieces. The assistant manager VuVu was excellent at her job.

High Tea with the family is a 5 star experience. Location, food, atmosphere ( loved the piano live music) all is perfect and we were hosted by Andiswa what is an added extra 5 star 🙂.

What a wonderful experience at the Mount Nelson High Tea. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles, seated promptly, and served immediately. Each course was thoughtfully explained, and the selection of unlimited teas was exceptional. The service was outstanding, and the ambiance was elegant and relaxing. A special thank you to Aphiwe for making our visit so memorable—you were absolutely wonderful. We look forward to returning!

From the moment we arrived at The Mount Nelson, every detail of our stay exceeded our expectations. We were spoiled with a beautiful suite and a selection of delicious treats waiting for us in our room, making us feel incredibly welcome and celebrated.

What truly set this experience apart was the exceptional Guest Experience team. They went above and beyond in the most thoughtful and creative way imaginable. After discovering that Margaritas are our favourite cocktail, they researched the drink’s history and created a bespoke “newspaper” telling our story. Even more remarkably, they arranged all the ingredients beautifully in our room so that we could make our own Margaritas together. It was personal, imaginative, and deeply meaningful, a surprise we will never forget.

We were equally impressed by our dinner at Amura. Having the privilege of working with some of South Africa’s leading chefs and restaurants, we understand what goes into creating a truly outstanding dining experience. After our meal, it was immediately clear why Amura has earned such a stellar reputation. The food, service, and overall experience were exceptional.

The Mount Nelson holds many treasured memories for us, which made celebrating our anniversary there especially meaningful. The extraordinary efforts of the team elevated the occasion even further, creating memories we will cherish for years to come..

Was an extremely enjoyable experience. Food was fantastic and so was the tea and coffee! I have never really tasted tea quite like this. Staff were extremely nice and the main woman who served us - Thuli, was lovely and really made the experience!
