Für ein 5-Sterne Hotel nicht empfehlenswert.
Pros:

Das Frühstück und die hervorragende Lage. Bootshuttle vom Hotel zum Markusplatz und zurück.

Cons:

Das Hotelzimmer. Der Boden knirschte extrem. Im Waschbecken kam Abwasser von darüberliegenden Zimmern hoch. Keine Einweisung bei der Ankunft. Zu hohe Verzehrpreise. Zu hoher Preis für die Garage.

Pros:

Lovely in some respects, cabanas are unfortunately rental only though there's hundred of empty ones and no signage indicating rental being required. Not the best service experience.

Pros:

Nice exterior, close to the beach, good choice at breakfast

Cons:

The hotel booked our water taxi under the wrong name (Claire instead of Clarke) which meant we had to wait over an hour at the boat dock while they sorted it.
Rooms on the ground floor are next to soil pipes and you can hear people showering and going to the toilet.
Beverages in our mini bar were half drank when we arrived.
Stains all over the corridor carpets/ in the rooms.
When the tide is low, guests have to use a second pier for the boat shuttle (10 mins walk from hotel with brief directions from the staff) - we were not aware of this and would have been nice if a member of staff had accompanied us.
Tennis courts advertised on the hotel website have actually closed down. If you book a court you get directed to a public tennis club down the road which is poorly maintained.
Drainage in the bath was blocked, everyone you have a shower the bathroom floods.
Only one plug socket to charge electrical’s.
No blackout curtains so very light in the bedroom early in the morning.

Die Lage, der Frühstücksraum am Strand

Cons:

Der Bootshuttle war nicht zuverlässig, da immer nur max. 12 Personen mitfahren konnten. Im Zimmer konnte man den Ventilator nicht regulieren. Es war also entweder zu laut oder zu warm. Völlig unakzeptabel.

Memorable stay at the Lido
Pros:

Hotel Excelsior is a very special property steeped in history, it’s beautifully decorated and is in a great location. The staff were fantastic- very friendly and attentive and helpful . The free water shuttle to St Marks was also a highlight each day.

Cons:

Some parts of the hotel are a bit dated and are in need of touch-ups.

The hotel was located on the beach and the all facilities and service by staff were of a very good standard

Cons:

On the day of check in the water shuttle could not get to the hotel dock due to high tide and we had to walk for more than a kilometre with heavy bags to get to the hotel. There was a staff member sent to assist but in these situations a suitable alternative transport would have been more appropriate like a buggy from the public dock.

Pros:

Das Zimmer war sehr sauber, guter Service. Positiv zu erwähnen sind die direkte Strandlage und der Shuttleservice zum Markusplatz .
Das Frühstück ist sehr reichhaltig, leider fehlten Variationen im Verlauf der Woche. Das könnte verbessert werden.

Cons:

Zu verbessern wäre , den Shuttle Service zwischen Hotel und Markusplatz zeitlich abends zu verlängern- das letzte Boot legt 21:00 von Venedig Markusplatz ab.
Sonst gibt es nichts zu bemängeln.

Leider fährt der Shuttle zum Markusplatz nur mehr bis 21 Uhr, bei einem früheren Aufenthalt war das noch viel länger. Auch am morgen kommt es zu Engpässen.

Die Lage, das Personal, das Frühstück, einfach ein tolles Hotel.
Das Bootservice nach Venedig ist ein sehr tolles Feature

Cons:

Sucht man einen Fehler, wäre es wohl die Vermietung der Zelte am Strand, die sehr kostspielig sind und man nicht hingewiesen wird, dass für jede Person zusätzlich ein Liegebett gekauft werden muss. Man meldet sich zu zweit an, bekommt nur ein Bett.
