Location good as was at family wedding
Room not very clean, rubbish left on floor, very dusty, cobwebs
Hotel very gd and staff
The price
We have a fire evacuation at 4am. I understand that isn’t at fault to the hotel but poor management meant we were all stand outside for nearly 2 hours. Elderly didn’t have any blankets , new born babies, people with no shoes. Once established there was no fire it still took along time to allow us back in. We had one night away from our children to enjoy some well earned sleep and came away more exhausted than when we arrived.
Only stay here as family nearby. Find it very impersonal hotel where it is more geared towards functions ie weddings etc so the ordinary guest seems to be brushed to one side to give priority to people attending functions. Reception staff again professional but not exactly warm and friendly. Restaurant staff very professional and pleasant. Disappointed on a two night stay room not serviced. Good job we had sugar and coffee with us.The prices paid for a deluxe room this should be a guaranteed. On entering, room looks nice till you eventually see that it is not as good as first impressions. Instructions on how to work TV would have been nice as would the addition of room service.
However what ruined the stay, albeit beyond their control was fire alarm going off at 3.15 am and everyone evacuated. So nearly two hours standing outside in freezing cold. No provision made for two very elderly men who were struggling and only helped by two guests getting them chairs to sit on. Young toddlers and babies absolutely freezing. Roll call was a joke as names called out before people were there. It was a total farce and very badly organised. Hotel needs to seriously look at their procedures for emergencies as what we experienced was disgraceful. Total lack of communication from staff as to what was happening, how long it would be, was it false alarm……we got nothing. Not even an apology on checking out.
Friendly staff and good food in the restaurant
Been woke up at0340 by the fire alarm
Position
Room not serviced
Very two star
Used to be much nicer and better maintained
Quality of food from the restaurant very poor. Overnight stay disturbed by fire alarm; forced to wait outside in the cold for over an hour. Some of the elderly guests really struggled, with nowhere to sit and no blankets provided.
We have stayed before and found all the staff to be very friendly and professional. Tge room was clean and comfortable. They provided a fan, which was needed during our stay. The facilities in the gym are good, the bar, restaurant and spa were excellent.
The golf on the day we arrived was horribly overbooked which wasn't a good experience, especially as my husband paid a high price for a buggy. The pool and changing area needs a bit of TCL.
Location for the purpose of my visit
Nothing
The convenience and location for a family get-together.
No issues other than a 4am fire alarm on our first night leading to a chilly hour in the car park. Unavoidable from the hotel's point of view.
Excellent
All good
Grounds and leisure facilities were well looked after and to a good standard
Tired, dated, dirty in communal areas as well as bedroom and bathroom. Mattress and pillows uncomfortable.
