Beautiful grounds and the hotel was a wonderful historic building. All the staff were very friendly, in particular the spa personnel.
There is no A/C in the rooms, so my room was very hot. A fan was provided which helped a little. I was not able to open the doors to the balcony, as they were locked. For safety reasons, I suspect.
The hotel was elegant and the spaces including the restaurants and the swimming pool was great. The zodiac restaurant was excellent.
The rooms should be a bit renovated to modern standards but being an old manor it's facilities were excellent.
Excellent staff service and great facilities close to Ware
Nothing although our bathroom a little tired
The property was beautiful & well tended.
The length of walk to my room. I am disabled and luckily was able to use a golf buggy to get to & from Reception.
the ladies working the day I checked in were amazing
ordered room service our food never arrived and we starved all night as it is in the middle of nowhere, when I went downstairs to let them know, the reception staff on late night shift on 2nd of august 2026 kind of laughed at me and was very dismissive. then my partner came down to see what happened and he laughed at him too. so weird. The breakfast is mediocre.
Room was very nice and the breakfast was good
We had to queue to check in which ate into the limited remaining time for child swimming which is already restrictive
pool and spa facilities
very hot room no aircon
Superb setting with fantastic gym and fitness centre.
Our room was overdue an update, but was very comfortable
The steak was one of the tastiest I have eaten. Staff were attentive. Loved 2 double beds in the room with a walk in shower.
the walk from the reception to the room was a little long but the receptionist drove us in the buggy thankfully!
Large rooms and comfy beds in peaceful location
No air conditioning, and slightly dated facilities
The hotel has a wonderful atmosphere and is set on a beautiful historic estate with lovely gardens and a golf course. During our stay Marriott organized a special event where guests could try golf, which was a nice touch. The outdoor pool was great and became the perfect place to relax during the hot weather. The breakfasts were excellent, and the traditional Afternoon Tea (£50 per person) was a lovely experience. Overall, the property has a unique charm and is perfect for a peaceful countryside getaway.
The only major downside was the lack of air conditioning. Unfortunately, we visited during an exceptional heatwave, with temperatures reaching around 40–45°C, and it was extremely difficult to stay comfortably anywhere indoors. The only air-conditioned space we found was the gym. We spent most of our time by the pool just to stay cool, but the heat inside the hotel and rooms was still very challenging. Air conditioning would make a huge difference, especially during unusually hot summer periods.
Beautiful location
No air conditioning in rooms . Bathroom looking a little tired
