One Aldwych has an exceptional approach to guest comfort and care. As an independent hotel, its whole focus is to ensure guests' experience is of the highest standard. For example, they have partnered with British Museum for access to Bayeux Tapestry, an example of enhancing guest experience of London.

All the staff were so welcoming, helpful and friendly. I needed help with a couple of things while at the hotel and the staff bent over backwards to help. Nothing was a problem. Their customer service was fabulous. It made our stay all that more special. The location was perfect, rooms were very well equipped, clean and plush. I was surprised how quiet the room was, considering we were on the 2nd floor facing the main road! The amenities were fantastic with access to the gym, pool and spa. Out of 10, our stay was a 12!

We chose One Aldwych based on location and after staying there, we’ll choose One Aldwych based on location, service, guest rooms, food, drinks, and anything else a hotel has to offer. Hands down, our new favorite place to stay in London. From a very warm greeting curbside when we arrived to a very warm farewell, One Aldwych’s team really shone. Room was great—and very quiet, especially given the location. Couldn’t have been a nicer stay for us.

A fabulous way to celebrate our 36th Wedding Anniversary by staying over at our favourite hotel. Everything was just sumptuous, from checking in, the quality of our room and the fabulous cocktails and food in the Legendary Lobby Bar. Breakfast in the Indigo, over looking the Lobby Bar, never fails to impress. Thank you all at Team One Aldwych

The hotel and the staffs professionalism.

I am writing a horrible review for this hotel because of their lack of understanding concerning illness and extenuating circumstances. They have no regard for the client whatsoever. I have been sick with food poisoning and have not been able to travel to London as a result of it. This happened this week from eating in a restaurant at home in Canada. My mother and I were supposed to travel as of yesterday, Thursday, July 30 and arrive today, Friday, July 31 for our reservation. We had to contact the hotel yesterday because there are problems with me getting on an airplane with these very difficult symptoms. I am also running a temperature/fever so this would obviously not be ideal to be on an airplane in this condition.
In any case, they have charged the full cancellation policy because we were not able to cancel this reservation any sooner than their cancellation policy, which is 24 hours. Obviously had I been sick on earlier in the week, it goes without saying that we would have cancelled this reservation on time. We had other intentions to travel to London earlier this year and each time we had a reservation with this hotel, we were able to make sure that the policy was respected and never incurred had any charges on a credit card up until today.

We are really shocked about being charged over $1500 CAD for this one night based on a valid health problem. The next available time that we will be able to travel is in the fall 2026 and since we are still looking to come to London, it is very unlikely that we will be booking with this hotel. Ww have had other hotels accommodate matters of this type in the past, considering that health issues are typically understood very well by hotels, particularly when they have a five (5) star rating. Although I cannot rate the hotel for its services and the experience of staying there, I would not recommend any other users of Tripadvisor or any travellers in general to be considering this hotel in London with their horrible customer service and their bad attitude towards guests.

It should also be noted that this hotel does not seem to be all that transparent in its practices because they sent an email to us indicating that the reservation was cancelled as of Thursday, July 30 for the total of eight (8) nights that was booked. It never indicated anything about the cancellation penalty being applied in said email. The email arrived in my mother’s inbox as af approximately 2:15 PM EST yesterday. There is something very underhanded about this decision to send a cancellation email with no information about penalties being applied. It gave the impression that the whole reservation was voided with no charges added, when in fact today, they actually did charge a cancellation penalty of one night's stay.
It would have been helpful and a much better option had the hotel been more transparent about this charge as of yesterday (Thursday July 30) when we notified them about my illness and the problem of travelling given this particular circumstance. I am aware of their cancellation policy, but they made it sound as though they needed to review the situation and get back to us today, Friday, July 31. When they did finally contact us, the only thing they did say is that we had been charged the one night cancellation penalty and it was as if the entire medical circumstance explained yesterday (food poisoning) had been disregarded. Not a good experience with customer service whatsoever and not one that I would want to repeat in the future, so this hotel will not be seeing us in the fall when our trip to London is rebooked.

After a bit of a dodgy start, the hotel more than made up for it with an amazing stay. The staff were fantastic and the manager more than helpful. The food was delicious with some lovely extra touches as it was for my wife's birthday...Upgraded to a beautiful room with views over the river.
To be honest they couldn't have done more. Thank you so much.

We live in Covent Garden but had an opportunity to stay at One Aldwych so treated ourselves to a Staycation. Our check in experience was very individual and we felt like we were treated very nicely, and shown to our room. A relaxing afternoon at the Health Club with a swim and steam before relaxing in our small but beautifully furnished room with the best air conditioning in London. It was 30C outside but a fabulous 18C in our room which helped us have a wonderful sleep. The in room mini bar and coffee machine was stocked up by the much appreciatedBreakfast at Indigo Restaurant the next morning was relaxed and a lovely event. Great food and menu, and once again personal and individual service that should be celebrated. Each staff member from doorman to Health Club to restaurant and front desk were all excellent. It truly is the kind of place you don't want to tell too many people about in car they spoil the peace and tranquility it offers which in London, and indeed most major cites as so rare and so special.

The best hotel I have stayed in. The staff were friendly, efficient and we can't thank them enough for making our stay so special. The swimming pool was a fabulous treat and breakfast was off the scale for deliciousness. We will never forget how we were made to feel part of the One Aldwych family and cannot recommend the hotel highly enough.

The location for bars, restaurants and sites of London is second to none .!

Good location, spacious room with 2 sinks in the bathroom (important for a ladies trip) and an enclosed shower (much appreciated). Nice coffee station - also important. Staff attentive and responsive -- we didn't ask a lot but needed a few towels. We had a good laugh trying to figure out the light switches (ok lights off - whoops not the right ones -- on and on) - but this seems to be a constant in hotel rooms. Labels would be helpful. The only oddity is the black and therefore dark corridors to the rooms. Not fixable but odd.

Thank you for an amazing stay! All staff are outstanding. My husband and I stayed 6 nights. After our first night we requested a room change as we believed we had booked a king bed and were given a queen. The manager was very understanding and personally toured us to two room options. We loved our new room, quiet and comfortable, a true oasis after busy days. The service is above and beyond- plenty of water in room that was refreshed daily. The room was cleaned in the morning and then a turn down service was provided each night. These were really appreciated as we were sight seeing all day and enjoyed refreshing before dinner. The universal chargers were helpful and I enjoyed the vanity table. I requested an iron and board and one was provided immediately and left through our stay which was appreciated. We ordered room service a few times. Once there were a few items left off the order and we did not have time to correct immediately. We told the front desk our next chance and the next time we returned to our room a lovely amenity had been left with a note apologizing for the room service mishap. That touch was lovely. Bell staff are phenomenal-very helpful with bags and directions. Upon our departure the bellman took our bags to the pedestrian crossing and across to the other side of the street for us! We were sad to leave and look forward to our next visit. Thank you for everything.

We arrived early, knowing that our room wouldn't be ready, but had a cocktail in the amazing lobby bar. We explored the local area for a while and were notified when our room was ready. Our room was amazing, very comfortable and well appointed. The service we received from all of the staff was wonderful and attentive. We dined in the Indigo restaurant for a pre-theatre meal, which was excellent.

An absolutely delightful stay, with super friendly staff who made sure I was well looked after. 5 star service for sure, thank you so much!
