Parking:
We have no onsite parking at Mercure Nottingham City Center, due to being a hotel over 200 years old. Lace Market public car park ( NG1 1QE ) is a 2 minute walk away. We strongly recommend parking 1st. Their rates are £17.00 per 24 hours and payable directly to them. Prices true as of January 2024.Guests are required to show a photo ID and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply.
A deposit may be required at the property.

Pros:

They cancelled my booking without notice
Realised they could double the price for that weekend. Ended having to pay double at another hotel. Booking .com was great and I received reimbursement for the extra cost

Quirky, centrally located hotel with everything you need for a good stay.
Pros:

This is an old hotel with all the modern conveniences of great air con and good wifi etc. Brilliant central location. Surpringling quiet. Lovely, helpful staff and a great breakfast.

Cons:

First "privilege" room offered was very poor. Dirty, dark, fridge with no plug, awful sofa, smelly.

2nd room offered much better but...
● Bedside lamp switch broken and stuck on
● Other bedside lamp switch broken, black tape over but my finger went through to wires inside. Very dangerous
● plug socket beneath TV bottom two holes broken.
● toilet leaked water from the waste pipe at the back. The water would seap into the floor. I expect floor boards soaked and potentially effecting the ceiling in room below.
● There was a pair of black womens dirty knickers in the wardrobe! Completely gross to find.

Overnight stay nottingham
Pros:

The location was the only redeeming factor as it was right in the centre. plus we had a courtyard facing room so it was quieter
Air con was perfect, needed it to keep the room cool in the heat.

Cons:

Rooms not as displayed on website. Think the lobby was the only area that resembled the pictures.
Small and compact uncomfortable to sleep in as the bed was right up to the wall with the door to the room on the other side. Even down to basic furnishing and pictures on the wall. We had nothing that was displayed on the photos. Felt like basic accomodation with no love, care and attention to detail.
Unclean surfaces, thick of dust and tv did not work,plus missing the remote. You could hear everything in the hallways.

Still trying to use the mecure branding and is deffo not up to the standard mecure used to be

Not a mecure anymore. Still got there branding up tho which is very misleading. They have gotten rid of most of the old staff and replaced them with people who speakly nearly no english. Ive stayed here loads of times and we deffo not be staying here again l. My wife was even aggressively questioned about taking free reading material from the reception to plan one of our days out. Like I said all the old staff have gone and replaced with minimum wage zombies who speak very little english. Take my advice and stay in the lace market hotel or the park plaza hotel for the same money

Awesome, perfect, value for money, gorgeous breakfast, fabulous location, amazing staff
Pros:

Everything was amazing from the response to my original query direct to the hotel to the room assignment based upon my requests as a disabled traveller.
Check -in was spot on and the room was lovely. Staff were great, everyone we spoke to was polite, respectful, helpful.
Food was lovely for breakfast, so much to choose from and items freshly cooked as needed. It was a similar level of breakfast that we have experienced in more expensive hotels.
It was located in the middle of pubs/restaurants with outside seating and we were spoilt for choice for food.
We were at the front of the hotel and there was a little bit of bass we heard from the live music venue opposite but honestly it was more like 'white noise' than anything stressful and we slept amazingly in a lovely comfortable bed
Cannot fault anything here and will definitely return.
With breakfast we paid only £10 more than if we had booked a Premier Inn with breakfast in the same city centre but it was as if we got a major upgrade by choosing this hotel, definitely worth a little bit extra just for the service alone as well as the room being twice the size of a Premier Inn and a separate walk-in shower as well as a bath. Perfect

Cons:

There was nothing that concerned us at all, we are looking forward to returning.

Great location. Good value for money. Basic but just about ok for a couple of days.
Pros:

Location fantastic for city centre pubs, bars and cafes. Staff very helpful and friendly.

Cons:

The standard double room very tight on space. Overall it was ok for one night. Although, bathroom mirror and dressing table light didn't function. Shower screen was also in poor condition.

Absolutely no sense of care from the hotel for one’s stay - sporadic staffing of reception is very unsatisfactory . Pleasant staff but no sense that there was a team
