Needs lots of TLC. Seen better days.
Pros:

Location

Cons:

Very noisy until 4am, lots of things broken in room, bar and restaurant closed except for breakfast. Whole place is run down.

Shocking dirty linen
Pros:

The location of the property and the quirkiness of it was appealing, everything on your doorstep.

Cons:

The rooms are slightly on the wonk probably due to it begin an old building, the floor in our room felt lopsided and floorboards were unbelievably creaky. Absolutely shocked by the duvets. We spotted these at 11pm at night and it’s safe to say we didn’t sleep well due to the worry of hygiene. I had previously asked for extra duvet as air con made me cold but reception said couldn’t get them until the next day. Such a shame when the hotel is placed perfectly. I reached out to the hotel and just got an apology which was disappointing as I thought maybe they would have liked a chance to revisit and rectify my opinion of them

A Poorly Maintained Dumpn
Pros:

Location. That's it.

Cons:

I woke up with insect bites after sleeping in the bed, the room was dirty, the shower cubicle was tiny and falling apart, and the room smelled of mould.

The history of the hotel was lovely
Pros:

The history, the staff (Sasha I think) was amazing

Cons:

Due to the business acquisition the old sign Mercure is on the front and if the reception team had not been outside at the time then it would have been confusing thinking it was the right place.

Do not stay here
Cons:

I recently stayed at this hotel and had hardly any sleep for my two consecutive night stay. My room was opposite a nightclub and for some reason the sash window had been fixed in an open position with only a thin piece of Perspex to keep the noise out. It didn’t work; the noise was unbearable and whilst the nightclub closed at 4.00am the noise continued when people were leaving the nightclub.
I did not wish to stay for my second night and sought the manager the next morning. I was advised that no manager was working and that the receptionist was not authorised to give me a refund for the second night. Neither was a telephone number available to contact customer support. My only option was an email. I sent an email and got an automated response (Ticket Id: 3003488943). As I sit here three days later, I have still not had the courtesy of a reply from Oyo.
I was under the impression that this was a Mercure Hotel. With their departure any semblance of professionalism has gone. The new owners Oyo are clearly putting profits before standards and have cut back on staff leaving a new receptionist and the cook to unsuccessfully resolve my problem.
Do not stay at this hotel, it is a disgrace.
